Planting time and method of bracken
Bracken used to be a kind of wild plant, that is, a kind of wild vegetable, but now after the nutritional value of bracken has been discovered, along with the green and environmentally friendly food advocated now, bracken is loved by more and more people, and even the phenomenon of planting bracken. Today, let's learn how to grow bracken and when to grow it.
Planting time
Bracken is one of the most popular vegetables in season. In fact, bracken can be planted all the year round, but usually the yield is very small, so generally no one grows it. The best time to plant bracken is in spring and autumn, that is, in March, April and September. Bracken planted in spring is usually harvested in June and July every year, while bracken planted in September is generally harvested in November and February, and can be harvested again in June and July every year. Bracken can generally be harvested for 10 to 20 years.
Planting method
1. Land selection and preparation
Bracken is more suitable for growing in acidic soil, so we generally choose flat mountain soil where the soil is thicker and more loose and fertile. When preparing the land, we try our best to plough the land deeply, then refine the soil, and finally make ridges and ditches, which is conducive to water diversion, drainage and irrigation at that time, and we should also pay attention to the application of basic fertilizer, such as compound fertilizer and farm manure.
2. Planting
There are two ways of planting, the first is sexual reproduction, that is, collecting the seeds of bracken, then sowing and raising seedlings, and finally transplanting. The second way is asexual reproduction, that is, wild bracken or bracken planted by others grow new seedlings every spring and autumn, and the new seedlings can be removed from the roots together. It is good to plant at regular intervals (usually 60-70 cm per plant). The planting method of asexual reproduction is the most commonly used in our usual planting.
3. Field management
If there is no rain after bracken planting, if the land is relatively dry, it is necessary to water the bracken, usually every three days. During the growth period of bracken, ploughing, weeding and fertilization should be carried out frequently. The amount of fertilizer applied each time is not very large, and a little bit is enough at each time of weeding. There are more Rain Water during the Qingming Festival, so we should pay attention to drainage in the fields during that period to avoid bracken root necrosis caused by too much water. Fertilization can be carried out after each harvest, which can promote the growth of new bracken. Finally, every winter, bracken should be covered with a layer of infusion or straw, which can play a role of heat preservation and promote the growth of seedlings at the same time. Every year, the field management should be as careful as possible, which can prolong the service life of bracken.
4. Harvest
When the bracken seedlings grow to 20 to 40 centimeters, they can be harvested for the first time. When harvesting, you should be careful not to pick all of them, usually 2/3 of them. Fertilizing after harvest, according to the normal growth rate of bracken, it can be harvested again in about ten days, and it can be picked three to four times a year.
The above is the introduction of the planting time and methods of bracken. I hope it can be helpful to everyone. If you are very interested in the knowledge of agriculture, you can pay attention to our pro-agriculture network.
