Kiwifruit, which is what we call kiwifruit, has high nutritional value. People who like it will think it tastes good, sour and sweet, but if they don't like it, they will feel a little strange, and the price of kiwifruit on the market is still very expensive. The cultivation of kiwifruit does not have too many requirements on the conditions, in the process of pollination is generally insect pollination, but sometimes the yield is not ideal, so in order to increase the yield, we are taking great pains, ah, let's take a look.

Reasons for artificial pollination

Although kiwifruit is male and female, the male flowers are more dynamic, so it is necessary to pollinate each other in order to bear fruit, and if the fruit does not rely on external forces, the fruit quality will not be very good, so it needs to be pollinated manually. In general, you can pollinate through the wind just for your own family, but the fruit is not much and will not be very big, but if you are growing large tracts of kiwifruit as your career, try to use artificial pollination as far as possible. in this way, the kiwifruit will be more nutritious and the yield will be higher.

The method of artificial pollination

1. Pollen collection

Pollen collection is usually collected at 90 a.m. or 6 or 7 p.m., two days after flowering, of course, it is best to choose sunny days, if the rainy days seriously affect the quality of pollen. The flowers collected must be male flowers, and then spread them flat on the paper after the collection, do not pile up to affect the quality, and finally carry on the pollen treatment. After the pollen falls off, the proportion of pollen needs to be allocated in order to reach the highest standard.

2. Pollination time

After the pollen is arranged, we need to choose a sunny morning to pollinate. Generally speaking, the best pollination time is at eight or nine o'clock in the morning, and the effect of pollination at this time is the best. This can greatly improve the fruit setting rate, and at the same time, the fruit quality will also be significantly improved.

3. Means of pollination

There are two methods of pollination, the first is to directly apply the stamens on the female flowers, repeatedly apply them several times, and then cover the male flowers on the female flowers to make them more intimate contact, but the time of pollination is relatively long, usually takes five or six days, but the effect of pollination is the best. The second is to dip the collected pollen with a wet towel and spray it with clean water, so that the pollination is not so uniform, although it is fast, and finally the pollen can be smeared with relatively lightweight feathers and other medium. the effect will be better than wet towels.

4. Check and replenish the powder

After two days of artificial pollination, the unpollinated female flower is usually white and turns yellow after successful pollination. if the color of the female flower does not change, or the color change is not obvious, it means that pollination is not successful. or you have left behind when you re-pollinate, so you need to replenish pollination. The way of pollination is the same as that of pollination for the first time, depending on which one you prefer.

These are the simple tutorials on why kiwifruit needs artificial pollination and how to pollinate. Of course, it also has some other pollination modes. For example, it is quite advisable to put a large number of bees in peach orchards to pollinate during kiwifruit blooming season.
