Preventive measures of Pesticide poisoning

Pesticides help to kill pests and increase yield, but improper use can also cause poisoning. In order to prevent pesticide poisoning, the following points should be done:

1. Frail, sick, elderly, pregnant and lactating women and minors shall not engage in the management and use of pesticides.

2. Pesticides must be stored in a safe (special warehouse or special cabinet), locked place and kept by a special person. Each pesticide container should have a clear label. There should be a strict system for the purchase, storage and use of pesticides. Can not be put in the bedroom, livestock barn.

3. Special personnel should be responsible for the preparation of pesticide solution, seed soaking and seed dressing with pesticides. The place of operation should be far away from residential houses, livestock stables, vegetable gardens and drinking water sources. To operate in accordance with the regulations, wear long-sleeved clothes and trousers, wear hats, latex gloves and masks to avoid liquid splashing on the body or inhalation of pesticide fumes. Tools and containers should be dedicated and cannot be used for other purposes. Pesticide solutions sent to the ground for application should be stored in a special container and locked.

4. When applying pesticides in the field, the operating rules should be strictly observed. Wear long-sleeved clothes and trousers, hat and latex gloves. When spraying, stand in the limelight and spray backwards. Do not smoke, do not eat, do not drink water, do not wipe your face and eyes with contaminated hands. Bathe with soap and change clothes after work. Soak contaminated clothes in 5% lye for an hour or two before washing. The remaining small amount of liquid medicine and sewage from washing utensils should be buried deep into the ground.

5. Pesticides should not be sprayed one month before grain and fruit harvest. If orchards and vegetable gardens have applied pesticides, it is best to soak fruits and vegetables in clean water for an hour or two before eating.

6. Once pesticide poisoning occurs, if it is oral poisoning, gastric lavage should be done immediately, vomiting should be promoted at the same time, and drugs should be used for detoxification. If you inhale poisoning when spraying pesticides, you should immediately get rid of the poisoned environment, quickly take off the contaminated coat, and rinse the contaminated area with soapy water and running water. If the symptoms are serious, they should be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment immediately after initial treatment.
