Planting time and method of fennel
When planting a crop, we must first know its planting time, at the same time understand the environment suitable for its growth, and finally understand its planting method, so that the crops planted can be high-yielding. Well, what the pro-agriculture network wants to tell you today is how fennel is planted, and when it is best to grow it. Let's go into the world of fennel cultivation with the editor.
Planting time
Fennel is not only a kind of spice, but also a kind of food, but also a kind of medicine, so it is widely used. Generally speaking, fennel can be planted in two seasons, so the planting time is in March and April in spring and September in autumn. Of course, planting can also be carried out in winter and summer, but greenhouse technology is needed in winter, while the yield and quality are not very ideal in summer. Generally speaking, spring sowing is the best time to sow seeds with high yield and high quality.
Planting method
1. Variety selection
There are many varieties of fennel, but the most common ones are fennel, cumin and bulb fennel. Fennel mainly has tall plants, high yield and early maturity, so it is suitable to be planted in Inner Mongolia. And cumin plants want to be relatively small for fennel, followed by fennel than fennel, which is mainly sown in Beijing and other places in China, and finally bulb fennel, which grows to a certain extent and its stems gather together into a ball, the smell is very light, but it grows faster than other varieties of fennel and the yield is much higher. Of course, no matter which variety is chosen, the seeds must be very full, so that the germination rate, yield and quality will be at least twice higher.
2. Land selection and preparation
In fact, fennel does not have too many requirements for soil, generally speaking, it is sandy soil with relatively complete soil layer structure, moderate soil pH, permeability and permeability, drainage and irrigation. When preparing the soil, turn the soil at least 35 cm deep, and then make the soil a little thinner, try to make the field look relatively flat, and fill the puddles with soil. finally, the average per mu is sprinkled with about 1,000 jin of organic fertilizer, 50 jin of phosphate fertilizer, 20 jin of urea and mixed with a small amount of potash fertilizer as base fertilizer. Finally, the fertilizer is stirred evenly, and the soil can be turned over again to wait for sowing.
3. Sowing and raising seedlings
There are three ways to sow seeds, soaking the seeds for a day before sowing, and then sprouting. The first way of sowing is the simplest. Before sowing, you need to water the land, then spread the seeds evenly on it, and then use tools to sink the seeds into the ground and cover them with a layer of withered grass or plastic film. The second way is to carry out strip sowing, that is, to ditch the whole land at a distance of 15 to 20 centimeters between each row, with a depth of three or four centimeters, and then evenly sow the seeds into the ditch and cover the seeds with soil, and then water each ditch again. finally, no dog was covered with a layer of withered grass or film. The last method is hole sowing, which is more troublesome, that is, each 15 to 20 centimeters punch a hole, then sow seeds in the hole, cover the seeds in watering, and finally accelerate the seedlings.
4. Field management
When the seedlings grow to four or five centimeters, there are relatively dense fennel in some places and only a few dilute in some places, so we need to replenish seedlings, and then there are more weeds in the field during this period, so it is necessary to carry out one-time ploughing and weeding, and the first topdressing and watering is needed after weeding, with an average of 1000 jin of farm manure, 50 jin of potash fertilizer and 30 jin of urea per mu. Pour 50 grams of water on each plant. The second fertilization is to wait until the plant grows to about 10 centimeters, applying an average of 500 jin of farm manure, 100 jin of potash fertilizer and 50 jin of boron fertilizer per mu, and this is an appropriate amount of nitrogen fertilizer, and the second watering.
5. Timely harvest
When the plant grows to about 30 centimeters, the fennel can be harvested many times or at one time, and if you want a higher yield, it can be harvested several times. Each harvest is about four centimeters from the ground, and then apply fertilizer to promote growth. If it is harvested at one time, it can be uprooted directly.
