Environmental requirements for planting lotus root
Lotus root is an aquatic crop, the mature lotus root is very fragile and easy to break. Lotus root also has great requirements on the growth environment, such as temperature, light and so on. Next, I would like to talk to you about the requirements of lotus root on the surrounding environment from four aspects: temperature, light, moisture and soil. Let's have a look!
1. Temperature
Lotus root is a kind of temperature-loving crop, which is not cold-resistant and drought-tolerant. Lotus root with a temperature below 15 degrees can not germinate, and the lowest temperature for seed lotus root germination is 16 degrees. The peak period of lotus root growth and development should not be less than 20 degrees and higher than 30 degrees, and the water temperature should be maintained between 20 and 25 degrees, so as to better promote the growth and development of lotus roots. In the initial stage of lotus root, the demand for temperature is higher, and high temperature is beneficial to the expansion of lotus root. After expansion, the temperature difference between day and night needs to be larger, about 20-25 degrees during the day and 5-15 degrees at night. If it is lower than 5 degrees, the lotus root will be damaged by freezing.
2. Lighting
Lotus root is also a kind of plant that likes light, no light will make lotus root growth erosion, small fruit, loss of commercial value. In the lotus root growth period, the light must be sufficient, but not required sunshine, sufficient light in the early growth stage is conducive to the development of stems and leaves, flowering and mature stage to meet the care can be conducive to flower opening and fruiting, lotus root body development is robust.
3. Moisture
What the lotus root absolutely cannot lack is water. The water level needed in the germination stage of the lotus root is 5-10 cm. Entering the peak period of plant growth and development, it needs to add water only 0.3-0.5m. To the late blossom and fruit, the amount of water needed gradually fell until the lotus root successfully overwintered. If the water layer is too high, it will lead to poor development of lotus root, and the water level can not be higher than the lotus leaf, if it is higher than the lotus leaf, it is easy to cause the lotus leaf to fail to grow until death.
4. Soil
The lotus root has very strict requirements on the soil environment, the lotus root field must require clay rich in organic matter, the content of organic matter must be more than 1.5%, the PH value is neutral, between 6.0 and 7.5, 6.5 is the most suitable, the soil had better contain a variety of trace elements, the content is mainly determined according to the variety, and the material required varies from variety to variety.
The above four kinds are the planting environment requirements of lotus root sorted out by Xiaobian, of course, there are more than these, such as the wind, to protect the stems and leaves in the event of a storm. Because the lotus root has small stems and large leaves, it is easy to break when blown by the wind. These are the places that need to be paid attention to when planting lotus root, lotus root is a very fragile plant, must be well managed in daily life, to safeguard their own interests.
