Sesame is very familiar to us, and we often see it in our life. In addition, sesame is one of the main oil crops in our country, which has a wide planting area and remarkable economic benefits. Then the following pro-agricultural network will explain the planting methods of sesame for you. Let's take a look.

1. Soil selection and land preparation

Sesame likes temperature and can be planted in spring and autumn, but it is mostly sown when the temperature is high, so it is very important to select soil for soil preparation and maintain water and nutrients. In areas with more soil moisture, the soil can be fine raked vertically and horizontally after turning over the soil, and the soil can be covered directly after sowing. In areas with insufficient soil moisture, it is necessary to sow immediately after turning the soil, and then cover the stem of film or other crops to maintain moisture. Sesame is afraid of waterlogging in the process of growing, so in areas with more overcast and rainy weather, it is necessary to open ditches to make beds, which is conducive to drainage and irrigation.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

The emergence of sesame seeds should have a suitable and stable temperature, so they are generally sown at 5-6, and there are three methods of sowing: on-demand sowing, sowing and strip sowing. On-demand sowing is sowing seeds in no holes, which is more tedious, but easy to manage after emergence; sowing is to spread seeds evenly in the planting area, emergence is fast, but difficult to manage. Strip sowing is a reasonable control of plant row spacing, reasonable close planting, suitable for large-scale planting, convenient for mechanized operation. However, no matter which sowing method, the soil should be covered with 2-3cm. After sowing, you can spray a diluted insecticide, which can reduce weeds and is equivalent to watering the soil. The seedlings can emerge in about half a month when the suitable temperature and humidity are maintained, and the seedlings can be interspersed when they grow 2-3 leaves.

3. Fertilizer and water management

In order to achieve high and high yield of sesame, fertilization is the key point, but how to apply fertilizer? Sesame fertilization should grasp the method and time, and pay attention to the combination of fertility.

Generally, sesame is fertilized in three times. First, after seedlings, sesame seeds are less, often improper fertilization will cause it to grow very fast, but it is not conducive to its later growth, so apply less nitrogen fertilizer as much as possible. Urea can be irrigated with thin dung.

Second, in the budding stage of sesame, when it has a great demand for nutrition, it needs to provide sufficient nutrients to make it bud smoothly. At this time, fertilization is generally dominated by nitrogen fertilizer, supplemented by phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

Third, flowering, sesame grows very rapidly in the flowering stage, when the root system has grown well and has strong absorptivity, and the nutrients absorbed in this period account for 70% of this growth period, so fertilization must be re-applied.

4. Field management

The seedlings should be ploughed and weeded in time, and should be ploughed for 2-3 times in the whole growing season. The combination of intertillage and soil cultivation can make the soil loose, help drainage and waterlogging, and prevent plant lodging. Sesame is sensitive to water, not resistant to drought and afraid of waterlogging, so watering and drainage must be done well.

The above is the planting method of sesame brought by pro-agricultural network for you. After reading the planting method of sesame, I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Please pay attention to pro-agricultural network for more agricultural knowledge.
