Corn is a favorite food crop, it is crisp, sweet and fragrant, a mouthful full of corn kernels, corn aftertaste in the mouth around. A corn is full of corn kernels, but in the process of corn planting, it is often found that the corn cob is poor in corn harvest because of the surrounding planting environment, management and so on. Then why did it happen? Let's take a look at it.

1. Temperature and humidity discomfort

Corn has relatively strict requirements on temperature and humidity in the process of growth. when the corn grows to the flowering stage, the temperature needs to be controlled at about 25 degrees, and the relative humidity in the air can not be less than 70%. There should be no lack of water before the male flower is out of bloom. The lack of water will make the spike floret develop poorly, and the female flower spun too late. And it will be the same if there is a shortage of water after the male is drawn. It leads to poor pollination between male and female flowers, and the flowering time is different. And when pollination temperature is too high, humidity decreases will affect the vitality of pollen, can not pollinate normally, resulting in poor fruiting.

2, weather reasons

The stage from the big trumpet mouth to heading stage of corn is the stage when corn needs nutrients most, and it is also the period when fertilizer is used most. If we encounter continuous dry weather at this stage, it will affect the silking of male and female flowers, resulting in early pollination, and because the vitality of pollen is too weak, filaments can not withstand high temperature environment, resulting in poor pollination. And if encountered in the stage of pollination overcast and rainy weather will also lead to poor fruiting, because the pollen in the spread of water will cause the pollen to absorb water and finally break. It leads to the failure of pollination and finally leads to poor fruiting.

3. Lack of soil fertility

Poor soil quality is an important reason for poor fruiting or even empty stalks of corn. Under the same conditions, the fertility of sufficient soil is much better than that of poor fertility. Some experimental results show that the higher the fertility, the better the fruiting, and the lower the density. And the single fertilizer is higher than the empty spike grain of the formula fertilizer, and the trace elements in the soil are indispensable. The lack of any element will increase the empty ear rate and decrease the seed setting rate of maize.

4. Cultivation malnutrition

If the nutrition is insufficient during the differentiation of the female flower of maize, it will reduce the photosynthesis of maize, reduce the accumulation of organic matter in maize, and lead to the underdevelopment of female flower. Affect the seed setting rate, and if there are too many nutrients, the excess nutrition in the body will lead to the excessive growth of corn stalks, affect the normal development of flowers, and lead to poor fruiting. Corn planting density should not be too dense, because too dense will shield the leaves from each other, resulting in poor permeability between corn fields, reducing photosynthesis and seed setting rate.

In fact, poor fruiting is that the corn cob is not completely full of corn kernels, unable to form commercial value. It seriously affects the economic interests of growers, so as long as I control the above points, the empty ear rate and poor fruiting rate of corn can be greatly reduced.
