Succulent plant is our common potted plant, its appearance is cute, fleshy lovely, people can not help but want to pinch it, let's learn how succulent plant breeds. The reproduction of succulent plants is relatively simple and easy, and the commonly used methods are sowing, cutting, ramet, grafting and so on.

1. Sowing and reproduction

Only a few succulent plants can self-pollinate and bear seeds, and most of them need artificial pollination to get seeds, and its seed life is very short, and its germination rate will be reduced if it is stored for too long. Therefore, many succulent seeds choose to sow in the coming spring after maturity.

2. Cuttage propagation

Cutting propagation is the most common propagation method, which mainly includes leaf cuttage, stem cuttage and root cuttage.

Leaf insertion: choose strong and undamaged leaves, insert or place them on wet sand beds or loose soil, and within a few days, they will take root and sprout and form plantlets.

Stem insert: like the leaf insert, cut off a section of the strong stem, the wound will flow out white milk, and after disinfection, it can be dried and inserted into the soil.

Root cuttings: root cuttings are suitable for succulent plants with well-developed roots. Cut off the mature succulent roots and bury them in the sand bed to keep the soil moist and get enough light. Soon they will sprout from the top of the roots and form plantlets.

3. Ramet propagation

Ramet propagation is the simplest and safest method for all propagation methods. it is suitable for rosette leaf clumps or group succulent plants, which can be divided by his bulbs, tubers and plantlets. The method is similar to cutting propagation, and the ramet part is removed directly. Another plant can be planted.

4. Grafting propagation

Grafting propagation is often used to breed brocade and decorated varieties, and the operation must be very fast and skillful in order to succeed. Combine the cut scion with the rootstock, squeeze the bubbles out, glue them together with their juices, and fix them. Keep the soil moist after grafting, be careful not to drench on the interface and place it in a cool place to avoid direct bright light.

The above is about the breeding methods of succulent plants. Succulent plants should be patient when they reproduce. Don't fail to reproduce because of impatience, especially cuttage propagation. Don't pick it up from time to time. This is tantamount to self-destruction.
