Note that due to moisture deterioration, urea is easy to absorb moisture, which will cause nitrogen volatilization loss; ammonium nitrate has strong hygroscopicity, easy caking and hydrolysis; lime nitrogen and calcium superphosphate are easy to agglomerate after moisture absorption, thus affecting the effect of application. Therefore, these fertilizers should be stored in a dry and cool place to prevent moisture, especially when ammonium bicarbonate is stored, the packaging should be firmly sealed to avoid contact with air.

Pay attention to fire prevention and protection from the sun, nitrogen fertilizer after exposure to the sun or high temperature, nitrogen volatilization loss will be accelerated; ammonium nitrate will decompose and oxidize at high temperature, and burn in case of fire, especially those that have agglomerated should not be hit hard with a hammer to prevent explosion. Therefore, when nitrogen fertilizer is stored, the sun should be avoided and fireworks should be prohibited.

Pay attention to the loss due to volatilization, ammonia, ammonium bicarbonate are very easy to volatilize loss, so storage should be sealed. What's more, nitrogen fertilizer, calcium superphosphate and alkaline substances (lime, plant ash, etc.) should not be mixed and stacked, otherwise it will lead to volatilization of nitrogen fertilizer and failure of phosphate fertilizer.

Pay attention to anti-corrosion and toxicity, because calcium superphosphate is corrosive, so it is necessary to prevent it from coming into contact with skin and metal utensils; ammonia is strongly corrosive to copper and iron and should be stored in ceramic, plastic and wooden containers. In addition, fertilizers should not be stacked with seeds, nor should seeds be packed in fertilizer bags.
