Application Technology of Boron Fertilizer in Field crops
Boron is one of the essential nutrient elements for plants. Boron absorbed by plants mainly comes from soil, and the content of boron in soil is very important to plants. When crops are boron deficient, the growth of the growth point is abnormal or stagnant, or even die; the young leaves are deformed and wrinkled, the veins of the leaves fade irregularly, the lower old leaves thicken and turn dark yellowish green or appear purplish red spots, the leaves and stems become brittle, the roots are thick and short, and the roots are underdeveloped; pollen germination is blocked, fruit formation is reduced, and fruits and seeds are not full.
Symptoms of boron deficiency in crops
1. Boron deficiency in wheat: abnormal tillers, sometimes no spikes, top leaves light green, curling and yellowing, old leaves curling, green loss and thinning. In the flowering stage, the stamen is dysplastic, the anther is thin, the chaff does not crack, the pollen is not scattered, the pollen is few or deformed, sometimes there is no pollen, the glume is open, the wheat ear is bright, withered in the later stage, only flowering, not fruiting, the growth period is delayed, and the leaf sheath is sometimes purplish brown.
2. Boron deficiency in corn: young leaves are weak, white and withered, yellow and white broad stripes appear on old leaves, stems are thin and short, grains are wrinkled and irregular.
3. Boron deficiency in soybean: generally, the disease resistance decreased, the pod setting rate decreased, and even flowers without fruit, flowers without pods and so on.
Application mode of boron fertilizer
1. Soil application: in the soil with low available boron content, slow-release granular boron fertilizer, such as Hefeng granular boron 200,400g / mu or Fujiuwei granular boron 800g / mu, can be applied to prolong the time of soil fertilizer supply. When sowing crops, fully mix with farm manure, chemical fertilizer or an appropriate amount of dry fine soil as base fertilizer hole or strip application, try to avoid contact with seeds.
2. Foliar spraying: foliar spraying boron fertilizer can be added flexibly and timely according to crop growth, and has the characteristics of fertilizer saving, pollution reduction and fast plant absorption, so it is the most commonly used boron application method. It can be sprayed on both sides of the leaf, but because the stomata are on the opposite side of the leaf, the effect of spraying on the reverse side is better. Foliar spraying boron fertilizer should be applied timely and appropriately according to the vegetative growth or reproductive growth characteristics of applied crops. The spraying period should be early rather than late, and the spraying times should be more than two. at the same time, combined with many factors such as the quality, safety and ecological environment of agricultural products and saving resources, it is recommended to spray new boron fertilizer with high efficiency and high absorption. such as "Hefeng boron", "Jinjiapeng" and other boron fertilizer varieties with high content and high utilization rate.
