The planting method of Dahlia

Last Updated: 2024/11/06, There are three methods of planting dahlias: separate propagation: choose healthy roots, cut the roots with buds and then plant them; cuttings: select plants in good condition, cut branches as cuttings, and insert them into the culture soil for cultivation; seed planting: put the seeds into a cultivation plate after treatment, and transplant them after they grow into seedlings.

1. Ramet propagation

Ramet planting can be carried out after the beginning of spring. First of all, we should prepare the stored root tuber, cut the root with bud, plant it in the soil, and cultivate it normally. If it is planted in this way, it can blossom in autumn. The advantage of ramet planting is that the survival rate is high, economical, simple and convenient, but the disadvantage is that the reproduction coefficient is not too high.

2. Cuttage cultivation

To cultivate dahlias by cutting, first select the plants in good condition, cut off the branches with buds as cuttings, and insert them into the soil with good drainage performance and sufficient nutrients. The disadvantage of this method is that the survival rate is not as high as ramet culture. Later management is more troublesome, from weeding, topdressing, to pest control, can not be wrong, in order to maintain it.

3. Seed planting

Choose the seed planting method, first select the culture plate, the culture plate is made of uniform soil, good drainage, sterilized soil. Then spread the seeds on the soil base and cover it with a thin layer of soil. Finally, cover the whole soil base with thin film to create a high-temperature and high-humidity cultivation atmosphere and wait for it to sprout.

4. Daily nursing

After developing into an adult plant, dahlias need to set up a pole for the branches, one is to make the flowers more beautiful, and the other is to prevent the flowers from breaking the branches. But also a reasonable supply of fertilizer, it has a relatively large demand for nutrients before and after flowering, so it should be replenished at an appropriate time to avoid the lack of nutrients affecting flower posture.
