Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Gardenia flower bud is mainly due to too strong light, too much water or forget to fertilize. If it is caused by the first reason, you need to use a sunshade to block out some of the light. If it is caused by the second reason, you need to suspend the watering and put it in a ventilated place. If it is caused by the third reason, it is necessary to replenish fertilizer on time and apply thin fertilizer diligently.

1. The light is too strong

Reason: if the gardenia flower is exposed to strong light for too long, it is easy to cause the plant to be sunburned, resulting in the loss of the bud.

How to deal with it: use a sunshade to cover up part of the light. But be careful not to cover it up completely, or it won't blossom normally.

2. Too much water

Reason: because gardenia likes to be wet, many flower friends pour a lot of water on it. This will lead to stagnant water in the soil, causing damage to its roots. Once its roots are injured, it will affect the absorption of nutrients, resulting in the loss of buds.

Treatment: if there is still water in the soil, do not water it for the time being, put it in a ventilated place and let the water evaporate. After that, you need to reduce the frequency of watering to prevent this from happening again.

Forget to apply fertilizer

Reason: it needs nutritious fertilization to blossom, and if it is not fertilized for a long time, it will lack nutrition and cannot blossom, causing the bud to fall.

Treatment method: replenish fertilizer for it on time, pay attention to applying thin fertilizer frequently, not too much at one time.
