The "wild Hawthorn" here refers to a species, the scientific name Crataegus cuneata, rather than the wild Hawthorn tree.

There are many Hawthorn trees on the outskirts of Beijing. I don't know if they are wild or they were originally planted, but later people went to the village and left them behind. In autumn and winter, the big red fruit fell to the ground, but no one cared about it.

There are few Hawthorn trees in the south, and some gardens will be introduced and cultivated, while the wild Hawthorn is basically short, small wild Hawthorn.

Hawthorn in the first place

The wild Hawthorn in the southern field is really rare. He is more resistant to barren and often grows on the barren mountains, not to mention the land, which can be drilled out of the rock face. He can also be regarded as a "pioneer species". Wild Hawthorn growth is common on the roadsides and slopes of mountain driveways with strong human influence.

Wild Hawthorn is a low shrub with dense branches and leaves and often thorns. I think what we call "thorns" contains the component of wild Hawthorn. The wild Hawthorn is inconspicuous and is often mixed with weeds and bushes. If it is not in the fruit, it is difficult to distinguish it from the surrounding environment.

In the center of the flower are 20 stout stamens, stamens with pink anthers, slightly curved inner buckle, surrounding the style.

The flowers of the wild Hawthorn look shiny in the sun, and it is the honey between the stamens reflecting. Generally speaking, the wild Hawthorn flower is no different from the Hawthorn flower, but it is a big circle smaller.

Wild Hawthorn can always bloom a lot of flowers and bear a lot of fruit. The fruit is small and slightly less than an one-dollar coin in diameter.

Obviously there is nothing to eat, the flesh is not enough to plug the teeth, and the taste is not so good, but we still have to pick it.

Even if you have to pluck the grass and prickly branches and cut them to the clothes and skin, you still have to pick them.

If you don't want to eat when you pick it, you have to save a full handful before you are willing to open your mouth.

However, after only a few tablets, it was so sour that I couldn't stand it.
