Camellias are less adaptable than other flowers, especially newly bought camellias, which easily lose their leaves and buds. Then how can we raise camellias well? Today, Cheng Cheng shares with you his successful experience in protecting camellias.

First, choose and buy

If you want to raise camellias well, you'd better buy seedlings in spring. Plants, like people, are adaptable. The hardest things about camellias in the north are summer and winter. Buy camellias and raise them from spring to winter. If you can raise one or two flowers in winter, this is basically a success, and it will be very easy to raise in the future.

Second, soil

When buying camellias, it is best to fill it with any soil in the original pot. if it is not the same, use similar soil, the original basin is red soil, the new soil is pastoral soil + river sand + a small amount of pine needles, this is called similar.

The most taboo is that the original basin is clay, the new soil is a very good permeability of nutrient soil, the permeability of these two kinds of soil is not the same, if so on, must not be good.

Third, watering

If it is red soil, sandy soil, or pastoral soil, as long as the surface of the basin soil dries and hardens, it should be watered in time. If it is nutritious soil, according to the size of the flowerpot, plane 3-5 cm down the edge of the pot. if the pot soil is dry, you can water it.

Fourth, fertilization

Growth period: first sprinkle some granular compound fertilizer on the surface of the basin soil, when it has melted and when to replenish it, and then, starting from June every year, use potassium dihydrogen phosphate every 10 days. Moreover, Camellia likes acidic soil and uses ferrous sulfate once a month.

Fifth, lighting

Camellia likes light and is afraid of exposure, but summer is the time for camellias to grow buds, and not basking in the sun will affect their buds.

So in summer, if it is raised outdoors, it can only be when the light is not strong in the morning and evening, bask in it for a short while, and ensure sufficient light at other times. And if it is raised indoors, it should be basked in the sun in the four seasons.

In short, camellias are not so difficult to raise as we imagined. As long as they have passed the adaptation period, they are no different from ordinary flowers.
