Last Updated: 2024/11/09, Summer is the season with the highest meaty mortality, so summer meaty farming deserves to be discussed separately and well. After all, the other three seasons did not add up to this season's death.

Summer is the season with the highest succulent mortality, so the cultivation of succulent plants in summer is worth talking about separately, and it is very worthy of good discussion. After all, there are not as many succulent deaths in the other three seasons as in this one. What are the severe tests for succulent plants in summer?

The first is high temperature. Most succulent plants begin to go dormant when the temperature reaches 35 degrees, while a few begin dormancy above 30 degrees or 40 degrees. The dormant period of succulent plant means that the physiological function of all parts of the plant begins to weaken, and the resistance is the lowest, so the mortality rate is high.

The second is exposure, heat is one thing, sun is another, a lot of succulent plants are not resistant to exposure, too much or too strong sunshine will make succulent leaves discolored, scorched yellow or sunburn spots. Once there are scars on the succulent surface, it will provide an entrance for other diseases and insect pests, which will be more likely to be infected at a later stage.

The third is heavy rain. Summer is the season of typhoons and torrential rains. Just watch the news about how big the recent rain is. Having a car and a house is no longer a basic standard. You have to add a small boat, and you have to learn swimming skills in order to settle down. Stagnant water is a taboo for succulent roots, and if you add high temperature, it is tantamount to cooking meat.

In view of the above three reasons, it is not recommended to raise succulent plants. Of course, there are exceptions, such as Yunnan and other areas, the average summer temperature is only 30 degrees, and there is a large temperature difference between day and night, just like autumn, you can choose the way of dew, which can make succulent plants colored and grow very beautiful.

In a word, if you look at the temperature, it is not recommended if it is above 30 degrees. Obediently pull up the curtain or shade net to cover up the heat wave and strong light outside. Of course, there are also people who directly move it indoors for the summer, but succulent defects such as sunlight will not die. At most, it is dim color and slender branches and leaves, so it is important to keep them alive first.

There is also the question of whether it can be caught in the rain. If there is a light rain or drizzle in other seasons, it is OK to let succulent plants get drenched occasionally. But the summer rain, strong winds and torrential downpours, it is better to bring it back, how can we afford this trouble? The succulent roots are so perishable that the water in the street sewers is pouring out in the rain. Can you expect this little succulent plant to absorb so much water?

Except for those areas where the summer climate is still mild, the air is dry and there are no typhoons and torrential rains, succulent plants should not be kept outside in summer, but in places where they can be kept from the sun and rain. And pay attention to the problem of ventilation, otherwise cover the sun and avoid the rain, or you will inevitably end up dead.
