Cowpea wilt, considered an incurable disease, has been cured! Cowpea growing areas have been ravaged by wilt disease in the past decade, with a mortality rate of up to 70% at flowering, leaving farmers helpless and nicknamed "death at the sight of money", resulting in a reduction of 30% of the planting area. Since 2016, the Kaohsiung Agricultural Improvement Station (hereinafter referred to as "Kaohsiung Agricultural Reform Station") has launched disease-resistant grafted seedlings, effectively reducing the incidence of cowpea wilt to less than 10%.
