Sweet-scented osmanthus trees bloom very fragrant. Seeing sweet-scented osmanthus trees by the side of the road, I often think, if only I had one at home. In fact, sweet-scented osmanthus trees can be cut, fold a section of branches can be cut to survive, can not meet their own wishes? You can just break a branch.

Sweet-scented osmanthus can survive with branch cuttings, and flower friends in rural areas can be planted in the yard, but what about flower friends in cities? Can be planted in large flowerpots.

1. Cutting time of Osmanthus fragrans

Spring is the season when everything recovers, and trees begin to sprout. Therefore, the cutting time of sweet-scented osmanthus should be in May or June, although it can also be cut at other times, but the rooting and survival rate will be reduced.

2. Cutting temperature of Osmanthus fragrans

The optimum rooting temperature of sweet-scented osmanthus branches was 25-28 ℃. If the temperature of Huayu is lower than the optimum temperature during cutting, the temperature can be increased by covering film, increasing light and so on. Similarly, too high temperature is not conducive to survival, at this time should be properly ventilated and shaded to lower the temperature.

3. Selection of cutting branches of Osmanthus fragrans.

The cutting branches should choose the semi-lignified robust branches that grow in the same year, which is beneficial to the rapid rooting of the branches. Therefore, flower friends should pay attention to the selection of semi-lignified branches when folding branches by the roadside. If you really can not find semi-lignified branches, you can also choose completely lignified branches, but this kind of branches take root slowly, so it is appropriate to use rooting powder to promote rooting. The cuttings should be cut into about 10 cm, the lower end is cut into a horseshoe shape close to the lower section, and it is also important to leave 2 to 3 leaves at the upper end.

4. Cutting substrate

Sandy soil should be used for cuttage cut-off, but clayey soil should not be used. Such as sand, peat, perlite and so on. These cutting substrates are loose and breathable, which is convenient for rooting.

Fifth, the late management of cutting.

Sweet-scented osmanthus cutting is not difficult. After completing the above steps, you can spray water regularly to keep the soil moist while maintaining the optimum temperature. Generally more than 30 days can take root, after rooting can be moved to the flowerpot, flowerpot choice is not too big.

Usually, when we raise sweet-scented osmanthus, we should pay attention to several problems, so that sweet-scented osmanthus trees can grow fast, blossom more and smell fragrant.

First, to prevent high temperature in winter, sweet-scented osmanthus can not be fully dormant in winter, it will sprout ahead of time, the branches are thin and weak, and it is easy to be hit by drought in spring. Therefore, it should be kept at a low temperature in winter so that it can fully dormancy and thrive in the following year.

Second, to prevent excessive dampness, sweet-scented osmanthus belongs to long sunshine flowers, like strong light, resistant to semi-shade. Lack of light, excessive dampness, easy to produce soot disease, causing fallen leaves, long, thin branches, poor flower bud differentiation, and then affect flowering, or can not blossom.

Third, frail sweet-scented osmanthus requires higher fertilizer and water conditions, lack of nutrition, poor growth and affect the quality of flowering. It is required to apply nitrogen-based fertilizer before shoot germination. If the leaves turn yellow, apply 500 times liquid ferrous sulfate. It is necessary to avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, prevent excessive growth, add phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, improve flower quality and enhance aroma.

Fourth, waterproof sweet-scented osmanthus avoid dampness, the most afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, potted sweet-scented osmanthus should be watered scientifically, dry and wet, and should not be watered too much to prevent waterlogging in the basin so as not to affect flowering due to rotten roots and fallen leaves.

Fifth, smoke pollution sweet-scented osmanthus is most afraid of smoke pollution, in the soot, dust pollution environment, the leaves will lose green and easy to fall off, less flowering, poor flower quality, or even no flowering. If there is dust stain, spray water to wash the leaves and keep the leaves clean.
