How can succulent plants get through this summer safely?
Every summer is the succulent season. And now the climate is getting hotter and hotter, and the difficulty of raising succulent plants is to climb another tall building every year. I hope that meat friends can also accumulate a little more experience in raising succulent plants every year, and strive for less succulent plants to die every summer.
Distribution of soil
As an experienced person, I really feel that soil distribution is not only the most basic work, but also the most powerful process in the later stage. Because as long as the soil is matched, even if you do not have a good grasp of the amount and frequency of watering, it can at least alleviate the fatal harm caused by stagnant water to some extent.
When changing the soil and basin for the succulent plant on the spot in the flower and bird market, please remember to strongly ask the boss to match the succulent soil with perlite, vermiculite or coconut bran, and add money. Don't simply use the soil, the later stagnant water will suffer. If you mix your own soil, use humus: perlite: vermiculite = 6:2:2 configuration, beginners suggest putting ceramsite at the bottom to drain water.
Watering
First, do not water in the noon and afternoon of the sun, it is appropriate to water in the evening; second, do not water the leaves, avoid stagnant water in the leaves or flowers, otherwise the plant is easy to rot; third, the watering frequency is generally once a week, dry and thoroughly watered, rather dry than wet. (of course, if the early soil is well matched, at least it won't be a problem. )
Avoid summer heat
Succulent plants should not be exposed to the sun, and should not be directly exposed to direct sunlight, especially in the afternoon. You can make your own sunscreen or go to the florist to buy one, with a shading rate of about 50%. Too much sunlight will burn the leaves, but lack of light will make the branches and leaves grow and dim.
Shelter from the rain
There are many storms in summer, and there are a lot of raindrops, so don't get caught in the rain. The amount of rain in a summer rain obviously far exceeds the demand for succulent plants, and the excess water will only accumulate in the flowerpot and cannot be discharged. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the weather forecast, and the succulent plants planted on the balcony should be moved back indoors ahead of time to take shelter from the rain.
Ventilation
Succulent plants require much higher ventilation for the conservation environment than other plants. Especially if you move it back to indoor for summer or rain, you should pay attention to keeping the indoor environment ventilated and keep the doors and windows closed. Please open the window in time after the rainstorm, it is best to turn on the exhaust fan or fan to increase the flow of air.
