It is not difficult to raise leeches, but it is not easy to raise good benefits. Leeches originally lived in the natural environment, but in artificial breeding, if the microenvironment and microclimate do not cooperate, the growth will be hindered. Tank culture and small pond water culture, it is difficult to form benefits. Leeches have their own inherent habits, and at present, domestication has just begun, and its wild habits can not be changed. Leeches are very sensitive to chemical fertilizers, pesticides, salt, alkali, acid, water temperature, oxygen capacity and sudden changes in the weather. Any discomfort will cause escape, and when they cannot escape, they can barely survive.

The newly built brick cement pool cannot immediately put in the seedlings. In the newly built cement pool, the alkaline substances (Portland cement, calcium hydroxide, etc.) need to be desalinated for a long time (about 20 days) before they can be put into seedlings.

The newly built ponds can not put in enough seedlings at one time, and only after the overall environmental conditions of the ponds tend to the comprehensive balance of the food chain, can we gradually increase the amount of seeds. It can not be mechanically thought that how many kilograms or how many bars can be put per square meter, and the amount should be determined according to the balance between the specific conditions of the culture pond and the growth status of leeches. Seed selection should eliminate some leech seedlings, such as mutilated, abnormal shape, hybrid, morbid and so on. If the leeches that suffer from internal or traumatic injuries can not be identified, they can be temporarily cultured for 3 days and then identified. If you want to have a good harvest within a year after planting, you must choose strong leeches over two years old as seedlings. The bigger the individual is, the stronger the leech is, the higher the fecundity, hatching rate and survival rate are, and the better are those above five years old, but such old leeches are rare.

Blood clots are not the only sensitive bait for leeches. When leeches are hungry, everything that can be eaten will be swallowed. Untreated blood clots may pollute water quality, and the cost is high, which should be fully considered when using.

Leeches eat a wide range of food, such as snails, clams, shellfish and their larvae, fish, insects, water fleas and other organisms, aquatic mycelia, algae and nutritious humus. Leeches and aquatic organisms depend on each other and coexist, as long as we do a good job in the preliminary work, and then often put fermented animal manure, plus sunlight, air and water, we can get a virtuous circle of the food chain and ensure an adequate food supply. This method has the advantages of low cost, good effect, and can optimize the ecological environment, which is more active and convenient than feeding and changing water on time. If the food chain matches reasonably, the water quality is fresh, the dissolved oxygen is sufficient, plankton and benthos grow fast, and the stocking density of leeches can be increased. According to our experience, 50-80 kg per mu of water surface seedlings, the food chain can completely maintain a virtuous circle. As a supplement to the main food chain, some artificial feed can be fed, including livestock, poultry and fish feed. The feeding amount can be determined according to the cost, season and the dynamic ratio relationship between the physical culture of the pond and the culture density. for example, when the water temperature is 22-27 ℃, if the water quality is fresh, you can feed more, and the time can be fed less before the leeches go out to feed at night.

It is not a good way to put stones and branches in the culture pond, and you can't throw it at random, so as to avoid side effects. The morphological substances in the culture pond should be arranged in an orderly manner, which should be based on the principle of convenience, labor-saving, time-saving, labor-saving and high efficiency.
