(agricultural Wealth Network) establish and improve the veterinary diagnosis room, establish epidemic prevention files, quarantine certificates, diagnostic records, prescription signatures, medical records, breeding records and other basic files. Adopt all kinds of effective serological or etiological methods, regularly and systematically carry out dynamic surveillance of the epidemic disease of breeding sheep, and resolutely eliminate positive and infected sheep; when suspected epidemic disease occurs, sick sheep and suspected infected sheep should be treated or eliminated in time, and supposed healthy sheep should be vaccinated urgently.

Treatment of sheep disease

On the basis of "prevention first, prevention is more important than cure", we should target and prescribe the right medicine according to different diseases. Adhere to the principle of "eliminating the cause of disease, cost-effective treatment, first light and then heavy, easy and good first" principle to avoid serious waste of manpower, financial resources and medicine. The methods of drug treatment are summarized as follows:

Common administration methods of ⒈

There are mainly three kinds: oral administration, rectal perfusion and injection.

Oral administration of ①

Most of the drugs used to dispel parasites in sheep and treat gastrointestinal diseases are taken by oral administration. The method is to stand the sheep, clamp the neck with the legs, or hold the neck of the sheep by the assistant, insert the left thumb from the corner of the mouth of the sheep, press the tongue, and put the mouth of the bottle from the other corner of the mouth with the right hand, lift the sheep's head gently with the left hand, and then pour the liquid evenly into the mouth. If the medicine liquid is more, it should be taken slowly to prevent excessive irrigation and choking into the trachea.

② rectal perfusion

Rectal perfusion is available for constipation or removal of parasites in the posterior part of the large intestine. The method is to stand Baoding sick sheep, slowly insert the enema tube into the anus, and then lift the funnel to slowly pour the medicine into the intestine. If the liquid flow is too slow, gently twitch the tube to speed up the infusion speed.

③ injection

They were divided into subcutaneous injection, intramuscular injection and intravenous injection. Subcutaneous injection is carried out in the medial thigh, according to the author's experience, in order to improve the injection speed, it can also be carried out in the inner part of the foreleg, but no matter where it is, the skin of the desired injection site should be lifted with the left hand to form wrinkles. then insert the needle into the skin at a 15-degree angle for subcutaneous injection. Intramuscular injection is mostly carried out in the inner and lateral thigh muscles or neck muscles, and neck muscle injection is better for easy operation. Intramuscular injection on the inside and outside of the thigh is not only difficult to grasp and operate, but also easy to insert the needle into the bone, resulting in lameness of the injected sheep. Intramuscular injection does not need to lift the skin, and the needle is inserted at a 90-degree angle rather than a 15-degree angle. when inserting, you should pay attention to the moderate depth and not into the blood vessels. The main site of intravenous injection is the jugular vein, and the sick sheep stand or lie recumbent during the injection. The method is to cut and disinfect the hair at the injection site in the neck (it can also be directly disinfected in practical work), and press the lower end of the neck with the left hand to stop the blood reflux. At this time, the vein bulges like a cord, and the right hand inserts the needle. If the needle is punctured in the middle vein, there will be blood inflow into the syringe, and jugular vein injection can be carried out at this time. If the needle is inserted too deep, you can slowly withdraw until blood appears in the syringe.

Considerations for ⒉

① some drugs for pregnant ewes or lambs can not be used, so in the prevention of medication should be selective, and strictly follow the instructions to prevent accidents.

Long-term use of antimicrobials in ② will destroy the ecological balance of normal microorganisms in the rumen, affect digestive function and cause indigestion. It is generally appropriate to use it continuously for 5 to 7 days. In particular, oral administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics in adult sheep, such as oxytetracycline, often cause serious flora imbalance and even the risk of animal death, so it is not suitable to use broad-spectrum antibiotics in adult animals.

③ long-term use of a certain antibiotic or chemical drugs, easy to produce drug-resistant strains, affecting the control effect of drugs. Therefore, drug sensitivity tests should be carried out frequently and highly sensitive drugs should be selected for prevention and treatment.
