(Agricultural Wealth Network) A, damping-off disease: is caused by fungi, seedling stage occurs commonly, when two true leaves grow, serious harm, so that the seedling stem base shrinks, sick seedlings appear gray hyphae, early disease occurs sporadically in the seedbed, spread quickly, one night will appear in pieces of death. The cause of the disease is soil humidity, seedbed ventilation, rainy days and night than sunny days and serious disease.

Control methods: reduce watering after emergence, irrigate early water, ventilate around seedbed, pay special attention to ventilation at night and rainy days, reduce soil temperature and strengthen illumination. At the beginning of the disease, spray with 1:1:120 Bordeaux mixture, or spray with 1000 times of 50% Tolizine WP.

2. Fusarium wilt: it mainly harms the root and the whole base, occurs between 6 and 10 months, seedlings and adult plants can occur. Seedling stage occurs in moist environment, white woolly mycelium appears at the base of stem and surrounding ground. General local occurrence, early onset, plant top tender leaves yellow, lower leaves are still green, short plants, roots and stems base black, the whole plant death.

Control methods: breeding prohibited selection of low-lying land, irrigation, no water, no continuous cropping, do not harm plants, wounds easy to inoculate Fusarium, prohibit and easy to get wilt plant rotation.

III. Black stem disease: Black stem disease mostly occurs in the high temperature and rainy season from July to August. It occurs at the base of stem and ground. It has long black spots and expands up and down, causing stem shrinkage and thin, leaves turning yellow and green and drooping, edges rolling inward, and serious plant death.

Control methods: strengthen field management, dredge drainage ditch, prevent water accumulation in the ground, increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.
