Some fragmentary thoughts of beginners raising hydrangea

Last Updated: 2024/11/05, I have heard many flower friends complain that hydrangea flowers are easy to grow and bloom. When it comes to me, how is it not like this? it is not long before a good hydrangea is bought back, and it has become a sick look. Don't.

I have heard many flower friends complain that hydrangea flowers are easy to grow and bloom. When it comes to me, how is it not like this? it is not long before a good hydrangea is bought back, and it has become a sick look. When others grow flowers, you also grow flowers, but there may be a lot of details that you haven't noticed. Here are some basic things.

As soon as I heard that hydrangea likes water, many people gave it a whole basin of peat. Peat does have a very good water retention capacity, but it is not advisable to use peat entirely, at least to increase perlite to increase ventilation and permeability. Those who grow hydrangea rotten roots to see if there is a similar problem with their own soil.

Secondly, water should be well watered and thoroughly watered, especially in hot summer and dry autumn. There is no special requirement for growing hydrangea, but at least the water supply must be adequate. This one is easy to say, but in fact, many people do not do it. There is nothing wrong with being dry and thoroughly watered, but it is best not to wait until it is dry in summer to water it.

If you see that the soil is dry, you can water it. It is best to water it in the morning and evening in summer. Of course, spraying water on leaves can also be used as an auxiliary measure. Another thing is that many people have not watered it thoroughly. If the soil is relatively dry and the soil gap is large, the first time it may just be that the water flows quickly and is not watered through, so it should be poured again for the second time to let the water slowly infiltrate.

It should be noted that if you are using a flowerpot with a bracket at the bottom, do not let it accumulate water, tilt the flowerpot and let the water flow out of the pot. In fact, I do not recommend using a flowerpot with a bracket. If the water accumulation is not discharged in a timely manner, it will have a great impact on air permeability.

In addition, if you have just trimmed the branches and leaves of Hydrangea, the sunshine time can be slightly reduced and the amount of water will be reduced. Because without some branches and leaves, the water demand will be reduced to a certain extent. Then every time it is watered, it is thoroughly watered. If in winter, especially the outdoor hydrangea, there may be a loss of leaves. At this time, under normal circumstances, normal maintenance can be done, and leaves will grow again next spring.
