Sesame can develop this disease in a lifetime, but there are two main hazards: the first is from 3 to 7 days of emergence to the budding stage, and the second is from capping to maturity. The symptoms are as follows: at the seedling stage, the cotyledons turn yellow and the roots rot to death; after flowering, the roots first appear brown spots and quickly become yellowish brown fusiform patches around the stem. There is no obvious boundary between the edge of the lesion and the healthy tissue, the middle of the spot is gray and white, and there are many small black grains on it. Due to the rot of the cortex and phloem tissue of the root and stem of the diseased plant, only fiber is left, which loses the role of transport and can not absorb water and nutrients. The pith in the stem is hollow, and the stem is easy to break.
