The leaves of the jujube tree are alternate on the jujube head and are borne on the deciduous branches, with short petioles and stipules, which turn into needles in the stipules of the spiny varieties, but are still stipules on the abscission branches. There is spongy tissue in the epidermis of the back of the leaf, and photosynthesis is mainly carried out in the front of the leaf, while there is palisade tissue in both the positive and negative epidermis of jujube, which has photosynthesis. The defoliation of jujube is a normal physiological phenomenon, but a variety of unfavorable factors (such as drought, diseases and insect pests, jujube injury, etc.) cause early defoliation, which will affect the transformation and accumulation of nutrients and adversely affect the flower bud differentiation next year. In cultivation, it is necessary to protect the leaves and make them fall after Frosts Descent.
