Things to note when calendering dates or opening nails

Calender jujube and fruit opening can increase the fruit setting rate and reduce fruit drop of jujube, but it also has the side effect of weakening the tree potential. There are three main points that should be paid attention to in the operation: ⑴ should be carefully operated, and the times and width of cutting and girdling should be determined according to tree age, tree potential and environmental conditions. For jujube trees with weak tree potential and poor fruiting ability, it is not suitable to calender jujube and open nail, but it should be rejuvenated for 2 to 3 years before tree potential is restored; ⑵ strengthens fertilizer and water management, in the land with sufficient fertilizer and water, although jujube is still able to produce high yield year after year, the tree potential is not weakened, but when the fertilizer and water is insufficient, cutting and ring peeling will seriously affect the tree potential; ⑶ protects the wound and promotes healing.
