Before the landscaping of aquatic plants, I'm afraid we all have to do the same thing-choose and buy aquatic plants.

Before we choose and buy aquatic plant varieties, we first need to consider whether our aquarium intends to use CO2 system as an assistant for aquatic plant planting. If we do not plan to buy CO2 system for the time being, we should avoid buying some fast-growing aquatic plants, because fast-growing aquatic plants will cause a large consumption of CO2 content in water quality and lead to slight fluctuations in pH. So we should choose and buy some slow-growing aquatic plants with low planting demand, such as Crown Grass, Iron Crown, Banyan and so on.

According to the demand of landscape effect, the overall landscape effect should be taken into account. therefore, background aquatic plants can choose aquatic plants as high as the surface of the water; half-height aquatic plants should be selected in the middle and on both sides, while the foreground should be short aquatic plants. This requires the purchase of some stemmed and trailing aquatic plants in piles, and in order to enhance the effect of the landscaping theme, you can also buy a separate aquatic plant with different shape and color.

In terms of the number of aquatic plants to be planted, money should not be saved in the first place, because too few aquatic plants can easily lead to unnecessary algae spread during planting. And with regard to the current low prices of aquatic plants in the aquarium market, I believe no one has spent hundreds or even thousands of yuan on aquarium peripherals, and they are distressed to spend dozens of yuan more on aquatic plants, right? But it should also be noted that some aquarium dealers often confuse some terrestrial plants with beautiful leaf shapes with aquatic plants, trying to convert them into aquatic plants, so if you see these "aquatic plants" with extraordinarily beautiful colors and leaves, when you are not sure of their types and think of some bonsai placed on the windowsill, do not buy them! Although these plants can survive in the water for quite a long time, they are always going to die. Therefore, it pollutes the water quality and affects the balance of growth, which is not worth trying.

Before going home to plant these aquatic plants, the aquarium should be filled with constant temperature and filtered water, and all the aquarium equipment is in normal operation.

First of all, the plastic baskets, lead strips and foam that provide temporary nutrients need to be removed. Do not rush to plant, at this time, you can soak these aquatic plants in water containing diluted copper sulfate solution for 10-20 minutes, which is enough to kill all the parasites, snails, hydra and other exotic organisms that may cause harm to the growth of fish.

Then, for trailing aquatic plants, you can use sharp scissors to trim the roots of aquatic plants at least 1 stroke 3, while removing rotten, yellowing or withered leaves, or even too many aquatic leaves. Stemmed aquatic plants are usually sold without roots or very short, so just get rid of rotten, yellowed or withered leaves.

When planting aquatic plants, stemmed aquatic plants just need to carefully insert their roots into the bottom sand, while trailing aquatic plants first press the roots deeply into the bottom sand, and then carefully raise them a little higher to reveal their roots slightly.

Prune the roots of aquatic plants

At the same time, whether it is stemmed aquatic plants or trailing aquatic plants, when planting, it is best to plant a handful of similar varieties together, which looks more beautiful, and be careful not to plant aquatic plants with a single hue and leaves that are too close to each other. It is easy to create a bright landscape by making full use of the shape and color of aquatic plants. Try the collocation of feathery and broad-leaf aquatic plants; the adjacent collocation of dark green and light green; and the collocation of red and green, etc., will have unexpected results.

After the complete planting of aquatic plants, it takes a period of time to adapt to the aquarium environment, gradually take root and sprout, and then enter the normal growth state, at this time, the landscape will become more and more perfect!
