My pig was born three months ago, but weighs only about 40 jin and has had a mild cough since childhood. Is there any way to speed up the growth?

A: comrade Shen Meiying:

Hello, in pig production, we often see some "little old pigs" that are seriously hindered in growth and development, that is, stiff pigs, which occur in large-scale pig farms and individual farmers. The so-called stiff pigs are pigs that have not been raised for a long time, eat only for a long time, and have a very small body weight and physique. These pigs not only consume feed and poor growth performance, but also are prone to disease, become a source of infection, seriously affect the economic benefits of pig farms, and are a major "heart disease" for farmers. It's a pity to abandon it, but it has no economic benefits. Many farmers are unable to take corresponding treatment measures because they do not understand the causes of stiff pigs, so they have to be eliminated, thus causing greater economic losses to pig production. In order to prevent the occurrence of stiff pigs and restore their health as soon as possible, we must first understand the causes of the formation of stiff pigs, and then we can take appropriate technical measures to reduce the occurrence of stiff pigs so as to improve the economic benefits of raising pigs.

First, the cause of formation

1. Congenital reasons: inbreeding, early mating, frail old boars and sows, lack of nutrition or severe stimulation in pregnant sows, etc., resulting in congenital deficiencies such as small size, poor development and weak living ability of piglets, especially the smallest piglets in a litter. Form "fetal stiffness". The disease accounts for 6.3% of stiff pigs.

2. Acquired reasons: lack of milk or insufficient milk of lactating sows, or different milk amounts of different nipples (generally more adequate milk in the front and middle) and other factors, resulting in insufficient milk intake of piglets, hindering the growth and development of piglets during lactation and forming "milk stiffness". This kind of milk stiffness accounts for 12% of stiff pigs.

Piglets suffer from repeated or repeated diseases, such as dysentery, asthma, white myopathy, anemia, Ascaris lumbricoides, scabies mites and so on, which consume a lot of nutrition and sometimes affect the appetite of piglets, resulting in weak physique and hindered growth of piglets, resulting in "stiff". This type accounts for 38.6% of stiff pigs.

Piglets start feeding late in the later period of lactation, poor feed nutrition after weaning or lack or deficiency of some nutrients, poor management, such as unreasonable grouping after weaning, competition for food between big and small pigs, weak pigs can not eat food and other reasons, the formation of "eating stiffness". This kind of diet accounts for 44.9% of stiff pigs.

The disease can occur in pigs of different breeds and genders in different regions, but it occurs frequently in piglets of 10-20 kg.

Second, symptoms. The sick piglets are lethargic, fluffy and pale mucous membrane. Walk and sway, like to lie down. Bow back to reduce abdomen, brain melon, round belly, buttocks, thin physique, dry skin, pleated. Constipation and dysentery alternately, only eat not long. Slow or stagnant in growth. The average daily gain is less than 50 grams, some pigs weigh only 20 kilograms in six months, and some pigs can't get out of the fence for a year. Therefore, to the farm (household) caused a lot of economic losses.
