Hello: I am a farmer in Lixian County, Hebei Province. I want to plant some fast-growing poplars in my scattered fields. Ask for advice on planting density, fertilization and pruning techniques. Thank you!

A: comrade Wushun:

Hello, the cultivation techniques of fast-growing poplar are as follows:

I. Variety selection

There are many varieties of poplar, and the excellent varieties with suitable, fast growth rate, high survival rate, good quality and strong stress resistance (cold resistance, drought resistance, disease and insect pest resistance) play a key role in the future.

II. Afforestation techniques

1. Parcel selection

Poplar has the characteristics of fast growth and high water and fertilizer conditions, so select the woodland suitable for poplar growth for afforestation in order to achieve the desired goal. The land in Jinghai is saline-alkali, and the difference between the eastern and western land conditions is relatively large, so it is better to plant in places conducive to salt discharge, such as ditches, canals and both sides of the highway, rain and watering are conducive to salt drainage; choose higher terrain, fertile soil planting. In recent years, it has been proved that soil texture, fertility and water conditions have great influence on the growth of fast-growing poplar. 107, which is born in Jiangjiachang and Wangkounan in Taitou, has a height of 9 meters and a DBH of 13 cm, while where the soil condition is poor, the average tree height of 107 of the same age is only 5 meters, and the DBH is 6 cm.

2. Meticulous land preparation

Meticulous soil preparation, maturing soil and improving soil fertility play an important role in restoring root growth and promoting rapid growth and high yield of trees.

3. The method of land preparation

The methods of soil preparation include burrowing, banded and comprehensive soil preparation. The hole-shaped soil preparation is adopted, and the specification of planting point is 60 × 60 × 60 cm. Large holes of more than 80 × 80 × 80 cm can be used in places with poor soil texture.

4. Afforestation methods

When planting, first backfill the soil to 1xuxue 2 in the tree pit, step on or pour enough bottom water, wait for the water to seep down, put the seedlings into the hole, fill the topsoil flat with the ground, gently lift the seedlings up, make the root system stretch, continue to fill the soil until the hole is full, and then step on it and pour water. After fully irrigated, the original soil imprint of the seedlings is 10 ~ 20 cm below the surface.

5. Seedling selection

Select two-year root two-year dry or three-year root two-year dry first-and second-class seedlings, the root system is required to be complete. Seedlings must be planted with each other, and measures should be taken to protect the roots and prevent the loss of water from the roots.

6. Afforestation time
