Characteristics of Muscovy duck (Muscovy duck)

Muscovy duck (Muscovy duck) is suitable for raising in southern provinces of China. Muscovy duck has fast growth, large body weight and good meat quality. Muscovy duck is good at flying but not good at swimming, so it is suitable for house feeding and lays 60 to 120 eggs a year. The peak growth period of muscovy duck is from 10 weeks to 11 weeks old. The weight of male duck is 2.7 kg and that of female duck is 1.8 kg. The ratio of feed to weight is 3.2: 1. The dressing percentage of fully eviscerated ducks is 74% to 75%, which is higher than that of Beijing ducks. The hybrid offspring of Muscovy duck and domestic duck is an excellent commercial meat duck and fatty liver duck. But artificial assisted breeding is generally needed.
