Treatment of bubble disease of fish fry

Bubble disease of fish fry is a common disease. At the initial stage of the disease, the diseased fish were unable to swim on the water surface, and soon air bubbles appeared on the body surface, head, fins, Gill filaments or inner intestines of the diseased fish. When the bubble is small, the fish can resist its buoyancy to swim downward, but the body will lose balance, tail up, head down, swimming and stopping. With the increase of air bubbles and the physical exertion of the fish, the sick fish float on the surface and cannot sink until they die.

So why do fish fry suffer from bubble disease? The ponds where fish fry are cultivated must be thoroughly cleared before they are released. Generally, they are disinfected with quicklime (125 kg per mu) and then exposed to the sun for a period of time. However, after exposure, the bottom of the pool is very loose, a lot of small bubbles will be produced after water injection, and bubble disease will be caused by accidental swallowing of fish fry. Therefore, before entering the pond, fish fry must be pulled back and forth several times with fishing nets or thick wooden poles to ensure that the water quality is fresh and not too fat.

It is worth noting that manure must be fully fermented before it can be applied to fish fry ponds. Because the incomplete fermented manure will slowly decompose into the fish pond and consume oxygen in the water, at the same time, methane and hydrogen sulfide gas will be continuously released, forming very small blisters, which can easily lead to bubble disease caused by accidental consumption of fish.

When bubble disease occurs, two-pronged rescue measures should be taken for diseased fish fry: one is to quickly inject fresh water; the other is to use 4 kg of crushed gypsum, 4 kg of fresh plantain and 5 kg of soybeans per mu of pond, adding water bubble swelling, mixed grinding and sprinkling throughout the pond, once every 2 days. After sprinkling it for 4 times, the diseased fish recovered.

It's the winter fry season again. Although releasing fish fry in winter has many benefits, it must be noted that if the dissolved gas in the pond water is too saturated, or if bubbles continue to be produced in the pond water and are mistakenly eaten by fish fry, bubble disease will occur easily. The following methods can be used to control the bubble disease of fish fry in production:

① keeps the water quality fresh and keeps the number of phytoplankton in the pool water from propagating too much.

② removes too much silt from the pond before releasing fish fry, does not apply mature organic fertilizer that has not been fully fermented, correctly controls the amount of fertilizer and feed, and removes the decaying matter in the pond in time.

The introduction of groundwater into ③ fish fry ponds must be fully aerated first.

When ④ transports fish fry, do not vent sharply. If you find bubble disease, you should immediately change water or add new water.

⑤ found that fish suffering from bubble disease should immediately add new (clear) water to the pond, at the same time discharge part of the old water, or move the diseased fish into clear water, the mild disease can gradually return to normal, especially those caused by oxygen supersaturation are easy to recover.

⑥ evenly sprinkles salt water into fish ponds with bubble disease, according to the amount of salt 3 to 5 grams per cubic meter of pond water, it will be effective after a few hours.
