Bean curd residue is rich in nutrition, containing 20% crude protein and 30% carbohydrates, which is a good feed for pigs, but in the hot summer, improper feeding methods are more likely to cause adverse reactions. In rural areas, many farmers feed pigs with a large amount of raw bean curd residue for a long time, which leads to malnutrition, loss of appetite and diarrhea in sows, and infertility, abortion or stillbirth in sows, and the survival rate of piglets decreases. Therefore, feeding pigs with tofu dregs in midsummer should pay special attention to the following problems.

The quality of tofu dregs must be guaranteed: in hot summer, tofu dregs are prone to decay and deterioration because of their high water content. Pigs eat spoiled bean curd residue, can lead to enteritis, diarrhea, diarrhea and other diseases, serious cases can cause death. Therefore, rotten bean curd dregs cannot be fed to pigs. In the hot summer, in order to prevent the deterioration of tofu dregs, fresh tofu dregs can be dried in the sun. If there is a mild sour taste, you can add 40 to 50 grams of baking soda powder per kilogram of bean curd dregs before feeding pigs, stir evenly, neutralize and improve appetite. In addition, tofu dregs can not be put in the refrigerator, frozen tofu dregs can easily cause digestive disorders of pigs, such as feeding frozen tofu dregs, should be fully melted, in the case of ensuring the quality of re-feeding.

Must be cooked before feeding: the main reason is that soybeans contain antitrypsin, goiter substances, diosgenin and erythrocyte agglutinin and other toxic substances. In the process of tofu processing, there is no process of cooking tofu dregs, and the harmful substances in tofu dregs lose their effect as long as they are cooked. Raw bean curd residue contains antitrypsin, which can hinder the digestion and absorption of legume protein by trypsin in pigs and affect the growth and development of pigs. Therefore, before feeding, it should be heated for 10 to 15 minutes, and the antitrypsin should be decomposed and destroyed in order to improve the absorption and utilization of protein.

It is necessary to master the amount to be used: the content of crude protein in bean curd residue is slightly lower than that of soybean cake and soybean meal, and the quality is also relatively poor. at the same time, due to the lack of vitamins and minerals in bean curd dregs, the nutrition of bean curd dregs is not complete for a long time. It is easy to cause loss of appetite and indigestion in live pigs, resulting in infertility or abortion in sows and reducing the survival rate of piglets. Therefore, it should be fed in conjunction with other feeds to meet the needs of pig growth. Generally speaking, the amount of fresh bean curd residue in the diet should be controlled at 20%-25% of the total feed, and the dried bean curd residue should be less than 10%. At the same time, energy feeds such as corn should be controlled in the range of 50% to 58%, wheat bran should account for 10% to 15%, and the content of soybean cake or soybean meal should be kept at 5% to 10%. In addition, it should be combined with sufficient mineral elements and green feed to meet the growth and development needs of pigs and promote the healthy growth of pigs.
