When the chicks were seriously infected, the symptoms were obvious. As the larvae drill into the intestinal mucosa, damage the intestinal villi, destroy the intestinal glands, cause mucosal bleeding and inflammation, resulting in acute hemorrhagic enteritis; a large number of adults gather in the intestinal tract, causing obstruction, and in severe cases, the intestinal tube can be ruptured, and the metabolites of the worm can cause chronic poisoning. When mild infection, symptoms are emaciation, anemia, mental depression, loss of appetite, growth and development block, diarrhea, sometimes resulting in intestinal rupture. Adult chickens have strong resistance, generally do not show obvious symptoms, diarrhea and egg production decrease in severe infection.
