Sudden death syndrome of laying hens is also known as laying fatigue or new laying hens. The main feature is the sudden death or paralysis of caged laying hens at night. The causes of the disease are complex, high temperature and hypoxia in summer and poor ventilation are one of the important reasons.

Clinical diagnosis: acute disease often dies suddenly, and chickens at the beginning of laying die most when the laying rate is 20% to 60%. In the seemingly healthy and good laying flock, the sick chickens could not be picked out during the day, but the dead laying hens could be seen the next morning, and the higher the yield, the higher the mortality. Cloaca protruding is common in dead chickens.

Chronic diseased chickens are paralyzed, unable to stand and squatting with hocks.
