Meat friends are often heard asking: how many days is it appropriate to water my meat? This question is really difficult to answer. Different seasons, different regions, the location of flowerpots and the alternating frequency of dry and wet soil will affect the frequency of watering.

How on earth should it be watered? more afraid of drowning, less afraid of dying of thirst, good entanglement ~ in fact, notice the following points, meat is generally fine.

1. See dry and wet.

No matter what succulent plants you raise, you should follow the principle of "seeing dry and wet". Succulent spring and autumn growth period 70% to 80% dry can be watered, thoroughly, do not water half of the soil surface looks wet, the roots have not yet absorbed water. The faster the frequency of dry-wet alternation, the better the succulent plant will grow. Slow growth in summer and winter, some meat into the dormant period, this time does not need too much water, so as not to rot the roots, the soil would rather dry some.

New cuttings or fresh meat don't need to be watered thoroughly, just keep the soil moist.

Succulent apricot is an exception. Apricot flesh in the molting stage cannot be watered even if the soil is dry. Raw stone flower summer dormancy to cut off water, meat cone can be irrigated, but also should be properly controlled. The flowering period should also be controlled by water, and do not water the flowers.

2. Choose the right flowerpot

It is important to choose the right flowerpot, just like people wear shoes, shoes that fit well are comfortable. If the soil dries too fast in large pots and small pots, the soil will be in a moist state for a long time, which is easy to rot roots, and it is not conducive to improve the alternating frequency of drying and wetting.

Don't water on cloudy and rainy days

In cloudy and rainy days, the air humidity is high, there is no light, succulent photosynthesis will also be weakened, and the dry-wet alternation of basin soil will become slower.

4. Look at the symptoms of succulent plants

If succulent plants are too short of water, the leaves will lose their luster, curl, soften, wrinkle, or move closer to the middle (except dormancy), and succulent plants need to be watered. However, there are some meat with strong drought resistance and water retention, and the leaves are also shiny under the same lack of water, such as rainbow jade, 8000 generations, and so on.

5. Bamboo stick test method

For novice meat lovers, if it is difficult to judge whether the meat is short of water by looking at the succulent state, it can be tested with a bamboo stick. Insert the bamboo stick into the flowerpot and pull it out to see the length of the wet soil on the bamboo stick. Or weigh the flowerpot by hand, the dry pot will be lighter.

6. The best time for watering

The temperature is high in summer, so succulent plants should be watered early in the morning or evening.

When the temperature is too low in winter, it is recommended to water the succulent plant at noon to avoid frostbite. The optimum temperature for succulent plant growth is 15-28 ℃, growing slowly below 15 ℃, dormant gradually below 5 ℃, frostbite or death below 0 ℃. Therefore, it should be watered when the succulent somatosensory temperature is slightly cool and not so hot, and the faucet water should be dried and watered again close to room temperature.

7. Symptoms after watering

If the succulent leaves still show no signs of recovery after watering, there may be something wrong with the roots. You need to take off the pot, repair the roots and change the soil.
