In the name of the son! New Taipei Organic fresh Force-Mili Farm

Hong Fuquan runs an organic farm in Linkou District, and named the farm Mili Farm after his son. This year, he has passed organic verification and has become a new force in organic agriculture. People in nearby Linkou District can order fresh organic vegetables through the telephone of Mili Farm.

Hong Fuquan, a 59-year-old farmer from a small home, used to grow rice in his hometown, and then lent it to nearby farmers to grow vegetables. two years ago, organic farmers in Linkou district and Zhouhao small farm owner Zhou Ye visited and wanted to lease land to expand the area of organic farming. Just as his work as construction site director came to an end, he resolutely returned to agriculture that he had been familiar with since childhood and joined Zhouhao small farm. Under the guidance of his predecessors, the farmland in his hometown was transformed into organic farming. After two years of organic transformation, this year it became organic and made the farm independent. After his son, Hong Mili, the farm was named Mili Farm to take care of as his second son.

Mili Farm covers an area of 0.47 hectares and has a total of 22 simple warm-net rooms. In addition to planting radish leaves, beet heart and other rare leafy vegetables on the market, the cultivation of cucumbers is also one of his proud achievements. Each warm-net room takes turns to plant, when fallow, will put the chicken inside to eat insects, to avoid pests affecting the next crop, it is the best assistant for organic production. Fish farming in a small ecological pond beside the farm monitors the water source of the stream to ensure that the water quality is clean. In summer, fireflies can often be seen shuttling between farms, which means that the water is clean and free of pesticides. Through the access road, Mili Farm gradually has many loyal customers. Hong Fu-chuan says, "after eating my organic vegetables, they all say how delicious they are. You must try it!"

The new Taipei city government encourages young people to return home to join organic production, invigorate organic productivity, and provides subsidies, including land rental, verification, organic fertilizers, machinery, and greenhouse facilities. They can apply to farmers' associations to lighten the burden on farmers. I hope everyone will jointly support organic agriculture and work together to protect the land.
