Gecko is also known as gecko, Tianlong or scorpion neighboring tiger. Gecko varieties are distributed all over the country, gecko taste salty, cold, small poison. It has the function of expelling wind, calming shock, detoxifying and dispersing knots. It mainly treats stroke hemiplegia, wind pain, wind-phlegm shock and eclampsia, scourge and other diseases. This product is commonly used in the folk to treat esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, uterine tumor and so on. Gecko mainly contains protein, fat, histamine and toxic substances similar to wasp venom. Pharmacological studies have proved that gecko has anti-tumor effect, and in vitro experiments have found that gecko aqueous solution can inhibit the respiration of human liver cancer cells.

Market prospect of gecko culture

In recent years, with the gradual depletion of wild gecko resources, the artificial large-scale development of gecko has not yet started in the whole country, and the development of deep processing products of gecko is deepening. On the one hand, the consumption of gecko continues to increase. In recent years, ingredients have been extracted from fresh gecko and made into anti-tumor oral liquid. The research and development of traditional Chinese medicine formula and proprietary Chinese medicine have resulted in a doubling of gecko market consumption, with an annual consumption of about 10 tons since 1980. It has risen to about 20 tons at present. On the other hand, the accelerated depletion of wild geckos has led to a tighter market for geckos. The market price of geckos has risen from more than 40 yuan per kilogram to more than 200 yuan per kilogram, and the price is still out of stock in some medicine markets. The sharp rise in gecko prices has further stimulated the capture of wild geckos, forming a vicious circle. Experts pointed out that the development of gecko culture has become a top priority, and timely development of gecko culture will get rich returns.

Culture environment of gecko

Gecko farming does not need too much ultraviolet light. Geckos generally do not need to use fluorescent lamps to raise, because most geckos are nocturnal animals. However, some people use fluorescent lamps to provide a natural day and night environment. Imagine that although they will not be active during the day, they can also let it know that it is a time to rest during the day. Remember to provide caves for geckos to hide, otherwise it will put a lot of pressure on geckos.

Gecko's main food is insects (such as crickets, breadworms, etc.), and adult geckos can supplement protein to mice.

The gecko's feeding box does not need to be too high, because the gecko does not like to climb up, but it is best to cover the top with ventilation.

Geckos usually absorb the necessary water from food and put a small basin in the feeding box. The gecko will drink water automatically or spray water slightly on the wall of the box. Spray water slightly once a day in the gecko feeding box to maintain humidity, which can prevent the gecko from peeling hard due to insufficient humidity. Putting grass moss in the cave can also increase humidity. Geckos grow faster under tiles.

Construction of gecko farm

The gecko house should be built in a dry, ventilated, cool and quiet place. The area depends on the scale of feeding, generally 4 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, 2.2 meters high, each room can raise 400 geckos. Gecko activity should be built on the top of the breeding house, 1.2 meters high, surrounded and surrounded by barbed wire.

The breeding room is connected with the activity field, so it is convenient for gecko to get in and out. A 20-watt black light is installed at the top of the activity field, which is turned on to trap insects, and a funnel is installed below. The insects fall into the activity ground through the funnel for gecko to eat. Clear water is placed in the room for gecko to drink. Set up a small pool for the gecko to take a bath. The four walls of the room are pasted with a layer of papyrus and hung with a number of linen pieces to facilitate gecko spawning and concealment.
