When meat is in its place of origin, it seems to be heaven and earth, unfettered and very free. Actually this is not so. Most of the meat that survives drought and hot sun grows in a regular way. Those flower friends who like to observe wild meat (they are just relatives, they are basically botanists) can roughly tell where the meat is growing by observing the environment in the wild. In fact, this is easy to understand, meat is not a fool, rocks and hillsides can help them shield them from the scorching sun at noon. Underground, some small environments made up of stones and soil can effectively keep the water from dissipating quickly. This is the natural flowerpot of meat.
Some flower friends like to plant meat in oversized pots for fear of being aggrieved. This kind of environment with large pots and small flowers is tantamount to no flowerpots for meat. In the environment of large pots and small flowers, no matter what texture you use, the pots don't make much difference. It is not easy to control humidity, and it is not easy to find the law of watering. It's like raising meat in a big bathtub. You don't care if the mouth at the bottom of the bathtub is blocked and whether the drainage is smooth. Even if there is water at the bottom of the bathtub, the topsoil is likely to be dry. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the soil moisture near the root of your meat. However, how deep is your flesh at present? Ten centimeters? Or 20 centimeters? You don't know, so, this is the difficulty of raising meat with big pots and small flowers. If you want to make a large succulent bowl, you'd better choose a large and shallow basin (not too shallow, 8 to 15 centimeters deep is good). In this way, you will know exactly where the roots of all meat are located. The humidity is naturally easy to control.
Big flowers and small pots are another extreme condition. Large flowers and small pots do not refer to the condition that the diameter of the flower is larger than the diameter of the pot, but that the root system of meat is well developed and has been filled with flowerpots. After taking off the pot, the root system can basically maintain the shape of the flowerpot. Most of the greenhouse meat that has not been changed will show the state of large flowers and small pots. Old meat, which has not changed pots for many years, often appears in this state. Big flowers and small pots are much healthier than big pots and small flowers. Because the root system of the meat occupies a large part of the space in the flowerpot, the structure of the root itself ensures the permeability of the soil. Black rot, water, these problems are not easy to occur under the condition of large flowers and small pots. Therefore, once the root system of meat is so strong, there is no need to worry about what flowerpot to raise. Apart from the above two extreme accidents, the characteristics of flowerpots are fully revealed.
Black square basin
The black side is characterized by up and down penetration, and there are many permeable holes at the bottom, which can almost be regarded as an up and down permeable environment, and the drying speed is very fast. This is absolutely the first choice of flowerpots for the goal of rapid growth, which everyone yearns for. However, the black square basin also has an obvious disadvantage, that is, the black is not beautiful enough. If you like to use black, there are already several colors to choose from. I once ordered an office succulent gift from a pink black square basin (which should be called pink square). Although the color is exactly the same as the black square, it looks fresh and refreshing to the senses. Some flower friends think that the black square basin is plastic and the side is airtight, so it is not the best choice for raising meat. I won't refute your point of view, let's talk about the breathable king red pottery pot in the flowerpot first.
Red pottery basin
With its super breathable material, the red pottery basin has a powerful aura beyond the black side in the succulent planting circle. Some fastidious flower friends do not use red pottery pots. There are also some merchants who are famous for specializing in producing red pottery pots. Unfortunately, red pottery pots are fried, and raising meat in red pottery pots is not as good as everyone thinks. Many of the cases of black rot that I have seen with my own eyes occur in so-called breathable red pottery basins. So, is the red pottery basin airtight? Of course. Get some air. Then why does breathable air still rot? This is because most of the meat is planted in the heart of the red pottery basin, and because the red pottery basin is breathable, the soil near the edge of the basin dries much faster than the heart. This creates a small environment with dry surroundings and a wet heart. Because we can not directly measure the soil moisture of the meat root, we usually speculate the dry soil moisture of the heart through the moisture of the topsoil and edge soil. The breathable red pottery pot makes the soil near the flowerpot dry too quickly, and it is easy to come to the wrong conclusion that the soil in the heart is dry. So again and again early watering killed the meat.
When I bring up this case, I am not saying that red pottery pots are useless, but I hope to remind flower friends not to believe in popular rumors too much. You still have to think about it in the face of fashion trends.
Knowing the shortcomings of the red pottery basin, in fact, the red pottery basin really does not have any shortcomings. Do not mistakenly think that when the edge soil is dry, the heart will dry, and you will be able to control the red pottery basin.
Water moss basin
If you have an idle bird cage or pet cage, you can use water moss to make a fully breathable flowerpot, and then try to raise a cage of meat.
After the bought dry water moss is soaked in water, hold on to the excess water in the water moss to keep it moist. At this time, the water moss is the best state of plasticity. Arrange the water moss into a piece and spread it into the birdcage, laying some on the bottom and edge, and thicker if the cage is sparse. After drying the water moss, you will find that the water moss has been set, and you can use it to put it into the soil to grow meat.
Permeable, water-retaining, breathable, can cover the soil and can be shaped, which is an irreplaceable characteristic of water moss as a special plant material. Although the coconut brown with long fiber has similar characteristics, its plasticity is much worse than that of water moss and can only be used as the bottom of the hanging basin. So what is the special character of this water moss basin? It's just breathable, it's so breathable, it's like the feeling of a piece of soil exposed to the air. You can use it to grow meat that you want to grow naturally (such as a lot of winter beauty Huang Liji obscure moon), and then often water them to make them crazy.
Drainage plastic flowerpot
Not all plastic flowerpots have good drainage capacity. But only plastic flowerpots can drain water quickly. after all, it is not easy for ceramic flowerpots to make detailed grid drains at the bottom of the pots.
Just turn the plastic pot over and look at the bottom, you can tell which plastic flowerpots are drained. The bottom of the drainage type plastic flowerpot has one or more grid-shaped drains, and there are supporting feet to lift the bottom of the flowerpot for easy ventilation. Water guides are also designed inside some flowerpots so that the excess water that flows into the bottom along the edge of the pot will not spread, but will be discharged from nearby drains. Non-draining plastic flowerpots have only one round hole.
The drainage plastic flowerpot is the advanced version of the black square pot, which is often beautiful in appearance and can be comparable to the black side in terms of air permeability. It's a flowerpot like in a high-end greenhouse.
Pottery basin and ceramic basin
Pottery pots and ceramic pots are both airtight and impervious to water, and the difference is very subtle, so let's not talk about it separately. From the perspective of air and water permeability, ceramic pots are worse than drainage plastic pots, but aesthetically speaking, ceramic pots can never be replaced.
When ceramic pots are sold, they all take the appearance size as the standard. It is worth noting that ceramic pots are generally relatively thick, you must pay attention to those ceramic pots with a height of less than 10 centimeters, there may be insufficient internal height. The bottom tends to occupy a height of 2 centimeters or more. The bottom of the ceramic basin used for larger pots tends to be thicker and takes up more space.
Purple sand basin
Purple sand basins are often expensive. If you don't have a special interest in the beauty of purple sand, I'm afraid not many people use purple sand basins.
Purple sand basin has fine workmanship, has a certain degree of air permeability, and will not be so exaggerated as red pottery basin. Drainage is also better than ceramic pots. If the price factor is not taken into account, I would recommend pots made of this material.
The color of the flowerpot
When it comes to the color of flowerpots, I don't want to talk about aesthetics. The main reason is that the dark basin will heat up rapidly under strong sunlight, which is associated with the rapid rise of soil temperature.
The most suitable temperature range for the root of meat is between 15 ℃ and 25 ℃. In the temperature range below 30 ℃, the higher the temperature, the more active the life activity of the meat root. However, once the temperature exceeds 30 ℃, the root activity of meat will be weakened due to the influence of high temperature. If the soil temperature is higher, the meat will automatically go into dormancy to protect itself.
In the midsummer afternoon, especially in the north, the oblique sun shines right on the basin. The black basin will be hot by radiation, and the soil will heat up rapidly. At this time, if the soil is dry, it is easy to cause the roots to age and scorch to death. If the soil is moist, it will produce local sauna weather inside the flowerpot, causing black rot.
Although the noon sun is sufficient, but because there is generally shade above, and the sun will not shine directly on the flowerpot, the temperature is not obvious. The sun in the afternoon is more worth being wary of.
When the flowerpot is placed, the light-colored flowerpot is placed in the west and south near the sun. Or set up enclosures to properly block out oblique sunlight.
Vase
Planting some old piles will feel very beautiful. Because of its small mouth, the vase is difficult to dry and difficult to take care of after watering.
My first principle for using a vase is that there must be a hole at the bottom. If there is no hole, punch one. If you think about it, the mouth above is already very small, and it is difficult to ventilate. If there is no hole below, it will be too difficult to serve.
The second principle is that granular soil must be used. To grow in this airtight environment, I believe that granular soil is a necessary condition for raising meat in a vase.
Open bowls and plates
Some beautiful cutlery have also been punched to serve as pots for meat. The craftsmanship of tableware is more exquisite and beautiful than flowerpots or even purple sand pots. But you must remember to punch these cutlery before using it. One is for drainage, and the other is that your mother won't dump your meat and load it with braised meat when she comes to the guests.
Be careful to measure the depth of bowls and plates to avoid using shallow pots that will cause the soil to dry too quickly. Have enough depth, this is any succulent flowerpot must meet the condition.
