When I was a child, I could see all kinds of birds everywhere: budgerigars raised on shelves grew from small birds to majestic birds, quarreling with birds passing by outside the window.

The owl standing all night above the treetops outside the window, its shadow cast into the window like a fairy tale by moonlight, printed on the quilt, warmed by many young dreams;

There are also those birds that quietly visit the kitchen, the geese that pass over the city every spring and autumn, those chirps, many years have passed, and always seem to be circling in the years of many people...

The city gradually more traffic and exhaust, beautiful, accompanied by our lives of birds, but seems to be unconsciously lost. Sometimes I really want to reminisce, run to the wild and listen to the birds, but I am always hindered by work and trifles, dragging on again and again.

Over time, those stay in the old memories of bird calls, more and more like a naive distant dream.

But do you know that there are far more birds in the world than you have ever seen? They fly freely or dive into the water. They are all over the world, or they are stationed under the eaves of your house, or they drift far away in no one's land... Their world is far away from us and very close, fantastic and ordinary.

/A fascinating world of birds/

Do you know what kind of penguin the penguin press logo is?

//Hung's ring penguin. Designers spent a whole day observing the penguin at London Zoo to design a logo for a publishing house. Maybe there's a Penguin book on your bookshelf.

Did you know owls can turn their heads upside down?

//All owls have fourteen vertebrae in their long necks, twice as many as humans. So don't mistake an owl's head for a broken one.

Blue tits taste blackberries before humans do!

//In thickets full of blackberries and raspberries, blue tits burrow into thickets and eat juicy berries, leaving berry pits behind to help thickets take up more forest space.

Matt Sewell

/A Museum of Birds on Paper/

Matt Sewell has been obsessed with bird books, paintings and postcards since childhood. He was attracted to the birds by their colors, characteristics, and shapes, and he could not help personifying them and assigning them roles. He loves nature activities in life, hiking, traveling, cycling, bird watching and family play, and draws inspiration from them.

Only Matt, who loves birds so much, can draw each kind of bird vividly and charmingly, outline the unique temperament of each bird with relaxed and interesting words, and grasp the "soul" of the bird.

Unlike the bird guides we know, this set of books uniquely divides the world's birds into Birds in Our Garden, Birds in Our Singing, Birds in Our Woodlands, Our Charming Birds, Penguins and Other Seabirds.

From the bird's habitat, show birds in gardens, woodlands, and even in the largest uninhabited areas on earth.

You will see that the great tits attract birds around them to their song; the red-bellied grey finches are playful and shy; the cockatoos sing melancholy; and the oysters are natural romantics.

The crow sings crystal clear; the blue tit knows the taste of blackberries before we do; the red-backed Shrike likes to make his prey look like a kebab.

You'll also see penguins and other seabirds from all over the world, as well as the cuddly, varied owls that people love...
