Cardinals may not be seen by many people because they are not common in life. Cardinals belong to evergreen shrubs, its flower shape is unique and interesting, like a small red sparrow, delicate and beautiful, deeply loved and sought after by everyone. In fact, cardinals are very suitable for family potted plants. Let's learn about the conservation methods of cardinals.

1. Selection of basin soil

Breeding cardinals need to choose smaller flowerpots and put loose and fertile soil in the flowerpots, preferably with a mixture of pond mud, fine sand and rotten leaf soil.

2. Light and temperature

Cardinals like the warm environment, but also like the light, more afraid of cold, and the temperature can not be too high, can withstand semi-overcast. The suitable temperature for growth is between 15 ℃ and 25 ℃, and the safe winter temperature is above 5 ℃. The light should be sufficient, shade maintenance is needed when the summer light is strong, and the sunshine time is short and the temperature is low in winter, so cardinals can be preserved in a place with sufficient indoor light.

3. Watering and fertilizing

Cardinals like a drier environment and can be watered normally during their growth, but not too much, avoid stagnant water, and need to maintain good ventilation, otherwise it will lead to rotting roots. The requirement of fertilizer is not high, during the growth period, you can apply fertilizer according to the growth status, generally applying thin fertilizer 1-2 times a month.

4. Methods of reproduction

The propagation of cardinals is mainly by cutting, May / June is the best breeding season, cutting is easier; it can also be sown and propagated, and it needs to be sterilized before sowing.

5. Points for attention

The common diseases and insect pests of cardinals are leaf spot, anthracnose, aphids, shell insects, red spiders and other pests, which are harmful and need to be controlled in time. Potted cardinals can be turned once every 1 or 2 years, in early spring. The soil can be changed again when it is put on the basin.
