The restoration of Taiwan sika deer has been effective, and the number of sika deer has rebounded to 1500, but now it has been reported that the density of deer is too high, and their foraging and trampling behavior have seriously affected the growth of crops and forests in Kenting. The Kenting National Park Management Office of the Forestry Bureau said that birth control will be carried out on sika deer, and scholars have also suggested a multi-pronged approach to control sika deer in multiple ways, such as birth planning and setting up fences or power grids, to continue to destroy precious ecosystems.

With a large number of sika deer, is it possible to develop a deer-watching itinerary in Nara, Japan? Tsai Cheng-jung, director-general of the Kenting Sheding Community, which has promoted eco-tourism and restored sika deer in recent years, said that the appreciation of deer at the top of the community is limited to the conservation park, so that it will not unduly affect the life style of sika deer, which is different from Nara's desire to promote tourists to be close to the herd and to be fed.
