What's the use of disinfecting tomato seeds? How to disinfect tomato seeds? Hope that experienced netizens can help introduce tomato seeds that have not been coated before sowing, need to carry out seed disinfection treatment, farming network collated the benefits of tomato seed disinfection and disinfection methods, listed below for netizens' reference. Benefits of tomato seed disinfection: first, it can control fungal diseases, such as early blight, leaf mold, spot blight, anthracnose, Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt, gray leaf spot, etc.; second, it can effectively control bacterial diseases, such as canker, scab, spot, etc.; third, sterilized tomato seeds can effectively control viral diseases, such as mosaic virus. Disinfection method of tomato seeds: before disinfection, the seeds are dried in the sun for 2 to 3 days, and the broken seeds, shrunken seeds and moldy seeds are removed, and then disinfection is carried out with reference to the following methods. Method 1. Soak the seeds in warm water for 10 minutes: first soak the seeds in cold water for 10 minutes, then soak the seeds in warm water of 50: 52 ℃ for 15 minutes. During this period, the seeds should be stirred continuously in one direction, and hot water should be added as appropriate to keep the water temperature within the appropriate temperature range. It is best to measure the water temperature with a thermometer. When the soaking time is up, remove the seeds and put them in cold water. Cool the seeds, then soak the seeds to accelerate germination. This method can control the pathogens of tomato seeds, such as early blight, leaf mold, spot blight, canker and so on. Method 2. Soak the seeds with trisodium phosphate: first soak the seeds in cold water for 3 hours, remove the seeds, then soak them in 10% trisodium phosphate solution for 20 minutes, then fish out and rinse the seeds with clean water for three times (when there is no slippery feeling on the seed surface), and then accelerate germination and sow, which can make the virus on the surface of the seeds lose the ability to infect. The virus disease carried by tomato seeds can be controlled by this method. Method 3. Adopt streptomycin water soaking method: soak the seeds with 200mg/kg concentration of streptomycin sulfate water for 2 hours, fish out the tomato seeds 2 hours later, rinse the seeds with clean water for three times, and then accelerate germination and sow. The method can be used to control the bacterial pathogens on the seeds. Method 4. Soak the seeds with potassium permanganate water: first soak the seeds in 40 ℃ warm water for 3 hours, then soak them in 1% potassium permanganate water for 10 minutes for 15 minutes, then rinse the seeds with clean water for 3 times, and then accelerate the germination and sow. The method can be used to control the bacterial pathogens on the seeds. Method 5. Soak the seeds with copper sulfate water: first soak the seeds with 01% copper sulfate water for 5 minutes, then rinse the seeds with clean water for 3 times, and then accelerate germination and sow. The pathogen of Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt on seeds can be controlled by this method. Method 6. Using dry heat sterilization method: tomato seeds were spread in a dry heat dryer, thick 2~3cm, at 60 ℃, ventilated for 2 to 3 hours, then heated to 75 ℃ for 3 days, the pathogens on the surface and inside of the seeds lost their infection ability. Compared with the seeds without dry heat treatment, the germination time of the seeds treated by dry heat was delayed by 1 to 3 days. After dry heat treatment, tomato seeds should be sown and used within one year and should not be stored for too long. In dry heat treatment, the temperature must be adjusted well, not on the high or low side.
