Many flower friends think that raising jasmine in the south must be much better than in the north. Potted jasmine has always been a gap between the north and the south, but is it like this? In fact, regardless of the south or the north, as long as you learn the technology of conservation of jasmine, potted jasmine will not be divided into regions, only technical proficiency.

Potted jasmine, the reason why there is a gap between the north and the south, because they do not understand the quality of site cultivation and management, is directly related to the yield and quality of jasmine. Especially as a potted jasmine, because the root system lives in a limited range of soil. Therefore, you need to learn the following skills well.

1. Pruning, thinning leaves and changing pots

Potted jasmine, which needs to survive the winter in greenhouse and flower box, will be pruned, thinned and changed after the evening frost has ended around Qingming Festival the following year. After the external temperature has gradually picked up, the potted plant should be moved outside for about 10-15 days, that is, around the middle of April. First cut off the withered branches, diseased branches and insect branches after overwintering, then remove the excess leaves, and each plant only retains 3-5 relatively strong old leaves.

By picking leaves and pruning, nutrients are concentrated to facilitate the germination of new branches, promote flower bud differentiation, and prevent diseases and insect pests. At the same time, depending on the growth of jasmine, if the plant is tall and strong, the small pot should be replaced with a large basin; if the plant is too crowded, it is appropriate to cultivate it separately. No matter whether the pot is divided or changed, under normal pot conditions, the new soil should be replaced every year or every other year, that is, the old soil should be dug up and filled with the new soil. Changing the basin or changing the new soil should be carried out at the same time before the jasmine germinates, combined with pruning and thinning leaves.

2. Fertilization

The jasmine which has just been planted, changed the pot or changed the new soil does not need to be fertilized, only needs to be watered, and does not begin to apply fertilizer until the plant germinates. Usually after White Dew, the temperature drops gradually, so we should stop fertilizing to prevent new shoots from being drawn and affect the overwintering.

Generally, before and after the Beginning of Summer, jasmine shoots burst and a small amount of flower bud differentiation should be timely applied with general organic liquid fertilizer, diluted 500x irrigating roots. When the first batch of primary buds are removed and new buds appear again, fertilization should be continued at a concentration of 800 times, and thin fertilizer should be applied frequently during the flowering period, usually applying thin organic liquid fertilizer every 3 to 5 days.

3. Remove the new bud

Before and after the Beginning of Summer, jasmine shoots are emerging one after another, followed by the emergence of buds conceived for the first time. At this time, the temperature is still low, the temperature difference between day and night is large, the flower bud is dysplastic, the flower is small, the aroma is poor, and the economic value is not great. In order to avoid the depletion of plant nutrients, promote the emergence of more new shoots and give birth to more high-quality buds, the first buds should be removed in time before they develop and grow.

4. Watering

The time and frequency of watering potted jasmine should depend on the sitting growth of jasmine, climatic conditions and the degree of soil dryness and wetness. Generally speaking, if it is cultivated in a greenhouse or flower box in winter, it should be watered once when it is moved out of the room. This watering is very important for jasmine to restore its vitality. It must be watered thoroughly until the bottom of the basin leaks.

For subsequent watering, under the condition that the temperature in spring is not high and the branches and leaves of the plant are not luxuriant, depending on the soil condition in the basin, if the topsoil is white, it should be watered immediately, usually every 2-3 days in sunny days. In summer, the temperature is high, the sunshine is strong, and the branches and leaves are luxuriant, the transpiration is large, and the bud is in full bloom, so it needs more water, so it must be watered every morning and evening.
