Last Updated: 2024/11/06, In a broad sense, the production of slow and controlled release fertilizer in China has a history of more than 10 years. But at present, only urease inhibitor stable nitrogen fertilizer from Shenyang Institute of Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, slow-release fertilizer patented by Engineering College of Zhengzhou University, slow-release rice fertilizer from soil Fertilizer Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Shanghai Han were successfully popularized and applied.

Fertilizer is not applied as much as possible. If you apply too much, it will not only waste, but also cause harm to crops. Excessive application of fertilizers, especially chemical fertilizers, will make the nutrient concentration in the soil solution too high, which is disadvantageous to seed germination. Too high nutrient concentrations can burn seeds, damage seedlings and inhibit crop growth, just as species do in salinized soil with high salinity. In the crop growing period, excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer will lead to overgrowth, greedy green and late ripening, which is easy to lodge and lead to the invasion of diseases and insect pests, resulting in an increase in empty grain rate, a decrease in 1000-grain weight and a decrease in yield. Excessive application of phosphate fertilizer is also disadvantageous to crop growth, not only shortening the nutrition period, early maturity, premature senescence, but also easy to cause the lack of zinc, iron, magnesium and other nutrient elements, affecting crop quality. Excessive application of potash or trace elements is also harmful to crop growth.
