When the flowers are short of water, the whole plant will appear to be lack of vitality, such as new shoots, drooping leaves, and even withered yellow leaves, which are not as bright and shiny as usual. Whether the basin soil is short of water is a difficult thing to grasp. The humidity and sunshine intensity of the home will affect whether the basin soil is dry or wet. How to distinguish whether the basin soil is short of water has become particularly important.

The method to judge whether the basin soil is short of water is as follows:

1. Visual method

Use your eyes to observe whether the surface color of the basin soil changes, such as when the color becomes lighter or grayish white, it means that the basin soil is dry and needs to be watered; if the color becomes dark or brown, it means that the basin soil is moist and can not be watered temporarily.

2. Kneading and twisting method

Twist the basin soil with your fingers, such as the powdered soil, indicating that the basin soil is dry and should be watered immediately; if the soil is flaky or granular, it means that the basin soil is wet, it can not be watered temporarily.

3. Finger measurement method

Gently insert your finger into the basin soil about 2 cm deep and touch the soil. When you feel dry or rough and hard, it means that the basin soil is dry and needs to be watered immediately; if it is slightly moist, delicate and soft, it means that the basin soil is moist and can not be watered temporarily.

4. Wood measuring method

Insert the bamboo stick into the basin soil to the bottom of the basin, pull out and observe the humidity of the soil above, and then you can judge the humidity of different soil layers.

5. Percussion flowerpot method

Gently tap the wall of the upper and middle part of the flowerpot with your fingers, if you make a crisp sound, it means that the pot soil is dry and needs to be watered immediately; if you make a dull voiced sound, it means that the basin soil is wet, you can not water it temporarily.
