Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Sowing and propagation: sowing seeds immediately after harvesting or sowing in spring next year. Cutting propagation: the robust and disease-free leaves need to be cut off and placed on the sand bed; the stems need to be treated clean and dried, and the mature roots need to be cut off and buried in the sand bed. Split propagation: when changing pots, cut off the bulbs and plantlets and plant them respectively.

First, sowing and reproduction

After the succulent seeds are harvested, you need to sow the seeds immediately or wait for the next spring. If the seed is stored for a long time, its germination rate will decrease obviously. Succulent seeds generally have a short life span, and some varieties have a life span of only a few weeks, so sow as soon as possible.

2. Cutting propagation

1. Leaf cuttings: cut off the succulent leaves that are robust and disease-free, and place them smoothly on the sand bed. Soon the leaves will sprout and take root soon.

2. Stem cuttings: when pruning succulent plants, the cut branches can be used as cuttings. The wound should be treated clean when cutting, and it should be cut in the sand bed after it is dried.

3. Root cutting: the roots of some succulent varieties are well developed, and the mature roots can be cut off and buried in the sand bed, and the top should be properly exposed. It is necessary to keep moist and bright sunlight during the growth period, and new buds will grow soon.

3. Ramet propagation

Succulent plants with grouped or rosette foliage can be divided, and their bulbs, plantlets or tubers can be cut off and planted respectively when changing pots. Some varieties can only be propagated by individual plants in order to be more pure, such as never Night City Brocade, Phnom Penh Tiger tail Orchid and so on.
