Low application rate of potash fertilizer reduces crop yield

Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Foliar fertilization is a fertilization method in which the diluent of chemical fertilizer or trace elements is sprayed on the leaf and absorbed by the plant through the leaf stomata, so it is also called extra-root topdressing. The advantages of extra-root topdressing are: small amount, rapid and significant fertilizer effect, fertilizer will not be fixed by the soil, not absorbed by the root system.

At present, the input of chemical fertilizer in agricultural production has achieved remarkable results, but there is still irrationality, there is still a lot of room for the development of scientific fertilization, the most prominent is the unreasonable proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Crops have a large demand for nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, the ratio of chemical fertilizer nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is 0.39 and 0.22, the proportion of nitrogen and phosphorus tends to be reasonable, but the proportion of potash fertilizer is too low, most farmers do not even know that crops need potash fertilizer. At present, the use of organic fertilizer, especially farm manure, is decreasing, which leads to serious potassium deficiency in farmland. According to the minimum nutrient law, crop yield is determined by the effective plant growth factor with the smallest relative content in the soil. Therefore, in the case of lack of potassium, the excessive application of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer can not increase the yield, on the contrary, it will increase the cost of agricultural production and cause soil pollution. The proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium required by different crops is different. In general, crops need potassium at the same level as nitrogen, or even more than nitrogen (such as potatoes). At present, ignoring the application of potash fertilizer in agricultural production not only reduces the yield, but also increases the production cost, affects the income and reduces the production enthusiasm of farmers because of the excessive application of other fertilizers.
