Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Pruned leaves: yellow leaves, diseased leaves, withered leaves, long leaves or broken leaves should be trimmed off in time, and should also be trimmed when growing too dense. Pruning a stolon: tiny stems and leaves will grow on the stolon and can be cut off. Pruning roots: when changing pots, the rotten and old roots should be cut off. After trimming, it should be placed in a place with scattered light.

1. Pruning blades

The leaves of Cymbidium should be pruned frequently. Yellow leaves, diseased leaves, withered leaves, long leaves or broken leaves will appear in the growth process. Scissors should be used in time after finding them. If it is found that the leaf growth is too tight, it should also be properly trimmed into a loose state. It should be noted when pruning that if the leaves of the plant are relatively dense, they can be pruned directly from the bottom, and if the leaves are relatively loose, the pruned parts can be cut off directly.

2. Pruning stolons

Stems and leaves grow on the stolon of the plant, which can be cut off or retained according to your own preference. However, those with relatively small or poor growth should be pruned in time. For the long-growing stolon, it can also be cut short or cut directly, after it is cut off, it will have new stems and leaves to sprout.

3. Prune the root system

The interval between root pruning is relatively long, so it only needs to be carried out when changing pots. When changing the basin, the rotten roots and the over-old roots should be cut off, and the diseased roots should be trimmed in time. In general, it is not necessary to simply prune the root system, but when changing the basin or when there is poor growth, you can check the root growth and trim it properly.

4. Pruning management

After pruning the orchid, it is best to put it in a place with scattered light, which can not be directly illuminated by the sun. The flowerpot can be turned regularly to make the plant receive light more evenly.
