Grow carrots

Carrot seeds are sown slowly and unevenly because of a layer of bristles attached to the epidermis. It has been proved by many years of practice that the emergence of carrot seeds can be achieved after soaking seeds with hydrogen peroxide solution, and it has been widely used in the carrot production base of our county. The technology of treating carrot seeds with hydrogen peroxide solution is introduced as follows:

1. Solution preparation

25% hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution is prepared by adding water to the hydrogen peroxide solution.

two。 Seed soaking time

Put the prepared aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide in a container, pour into the carrot seeds that have been rubbed off the bristles, and stir them with sticks while pouring, so that the seeds can absorb water evenly. The soaking time is 30-50 minutes, and the lower limit is used when the temperature is higher than 30 ℃, otherwise the upper limit is used.

3. Seed germination

After soaking the seeds, remove the seeds from the aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide, then rinse with clean water for 3 times (filtering water while rinsing). After filtering the water, cover the germination with a wet cloth. If the seeds are moderately mature and full, more than 85% of the seeds will germinate in 7-8 days, and the seedlings will be ready 5 days after sowing.

4. Matters needing attention

First, before soaking the seeds with hydrogen peroxide solution, the carrot seeds left or purchased should be sunny and sunny, and the sundries and unfull seeds should be removed; second, the seeds that have been soaked and accelerated germination should be sterilized with chlorothalonil solution; third, the seeds should be sowed in time after seed soaking and germination sterilization, and the field soil should be moist. Fourth, after sowing, cover 0.5 centimeters of soil and press it to make the soil coincide with the seeds, then cover the shade with mulch, and open the grass curtain when 10% to 15% of the seedlings are unearthed.
