High-quality and high-yield cultivation techniques of bergamot
With people's demand for new things, some new varieties of vegetables, such as bergamot, began to come into people's view. Bergamot's requirements for planting conditions are relatively simple, which can be planted on the side of the village, in front of the house, behind the house and in the courtyard, with less diseases and insect pests, high yield, good flavor and storage resistance. The yield per mu of bergamot is about 5000 kg, and the economic benefit is considerable. The cultivation techniques of bergamot are as follows:
Bergamot
1. Planting time
Bergamot is afraid of cold and is vulnerable to frost damage, so it is chosen to be planted after the frost period. Due to the different climatic conditions in different places, it is necessary to choose the planting period that is suitable for your own place. Generally choose to transplant before and after May Day, if you want to advance appropriately, you can use plastic film mulching.
2. Soil preparation and fertilization
According to geographical conditions, select a good plot, first dig a deep pit about 1 meter long and 1 meter wide, and backfill the pit with evenly mixed farm manure. If continuous planting, the most suitable planting density is generally 4-6 square meters to plant 1 plant. In order to improve the fertilizer efficiency of farm manure in the deep pit, 5-7 kg calcium superphosphate was added to every 100 kg of human feces and urine, stirred evenly, fermented for 5-10 days, and applied appropriately in each pit.
3. Select melon seedlings, film mulching and anti-freezing
Choose strong, disease-free bergamot seedlings into the pit, use farm manure and fine soil to bury the pit level with the ground, and then pour enough fine water into the pit. If the planting is too early, it should be covered with thin film to prevent frost injury.
4. Strengthen the management
Bergamot has a growth period of about 4 months, and the aboveground stem grows slowly, but the lateral branches at the base of the stem grow faster and are easy to form clumps. In the early stage, the extra sprouts should be erased in time, and each plant should retain 3-5 sturdy vines. Ploughing and loosening the soil in time to facilitate the growth and development of the root system. When entering the climbing period, it is necessary to set up and fix seedlings as soon as possible. Pay attention to timely watering when passing the summer, and the soil should be kept moist. After autumn, it is the heyday of bergamot melon, pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and pests, while timely fertilization and watering to ensure a bumper harvest.
5. Pick in time
The flowering and fruiting period of bergamot is very concentrated, so we must pick mature bergamot in time so as not to affect the growth and development of other immature melons and fruits. The bergamot melon-like ripens 20-25 days after Xiehua, and each bergamot can harvest 300-800 fruits with remarkable benefits.
