A new method of saving grain and raising beef cattle by changing backward breeding methods

In order to develop cattle raising with high yield and low consumption, we must change the backward feeding mode of scattered grazing in summer and autumn and searching for wasteland in winter and spring, fully tap the resource potential, scientifically standardize the feeding management technology, and actively select a new grain-saving and efficient feeding mode of hybrid cattle-forage-supplement.

1. Selective feeding of crossbred cattle. Crossbred cattle concentrate the fine traits of different breeds, have obvious heterosis, and can produce a large number of high-quality beef in a short time. If there are no crossbred cattle, select local steers aged 3~8 years old, weighing 250 kg, with moderate health and no disease for short-term fattening.

2. Feed ammoniac grass. Feeding cattle with ammoniated grass can improve nutrient conversion rate, enhance palatability and reduce production cost. Ammoniated grass is prepared by sealing treatment in an ammoniating chamber according to the proportion of 100 kg grass, 3 kg urea and 40 kg water. Ammoniated straw should be transferred to the open field when it is sunny and continuously turned to release ammonia. After the ammonia smell is exhausted, it will be accumulated indoors for later use. Feeding ammoniac grass should have 7~10 days transition period, the normal feeding amount for beef cattle is generally 2% of body weight, and it is fed 3 times a day according to the principle of eating well and not wasting.

3. Feed the mixture. The reference formula of the mixture was corn 60%, cake 37%, starch 2%, salt 1%. The mixture was fed regularly at 1% of the cattle's body weight twice a day.

4. Add additives. It is an important way to develop beef cattle industry and improve the benefit of beef cattle by raising cattle scientifically and asking for meat from technology. At present, the technology of embedding weight-increasing agent is widely used. Fattening bulls can be buried at any time, and the best effect of weight gain is to bury castrated cattle, fattening cows do not need to bury medicine. For cattle with longer feeding period, repeated implantation can be carried out at intervals of 100 days, and the fattening effect is better.

5. Fine feeding and fine management. During the transitional period of feeding ammoniated forage, 30 mg of albendazole per kilogram of body weight should be taken orally, and the stomach should be strengthened after taking it. In fattening stage, grazing for 1~2 months in grass season, house feeding for fattening for no less than 1 month in late stage, and fattening time by using high concentrate diet for 60~90 days. When mixing materials, it is required to mix wet materials first, and then mix them evenly with forage grass after 1 hour. In addition, clean water must be supplied twice daily and wet bedding removed frequently to keep the pens dry and clean.
